South Carolina Judicial System is a ripoff. Moncks Corner, South Carolina
My name is Prinscillia Sumpter and I am writing in reference to South Carolina Judical System. This system is a joke and a rip off. Here in local Berkeley County we had a police officer who was stopping residence soley because of the color of there skin. This office stopped my husband and wrote him $2,400 dollars worth of tickets in one stop. We protested this tickets.
We went to this officer's Boss who is the Mayor of the town of Bonneau here in South Carolina. This Mayor retaliated against us for compaling about this dishonest police officer. Little did we know that this officer was the live in boyfriend of this Mayors daughter. To make a long story short. Plenty of the citizens of this town were complaining, so I began to orginize meeting to get the citizins out to sign pettitions, so that we could carry these pettitions to the governer.
The media and local newspapers where involved in covering our meetings. This officer retaliated agianst us and he went to a crocked Judge and had him sign a arrest warrant against us because he claimed that by me and my husband going on TV and speaking to the media, these activities where slanderous and harrassment to him. We were arrested. The slander charge was thrown out and we went to court on the Harrassment charges.
We got a 5 to 1 not guilty verdict in our favor. The same Judge who signed this warrant in the first place presided over our trial. The Judge threw out the Juries verdict and order a new trial. This time the Judge basically chose our Jury and also the same officer who had us arrested hired his own private attorney to prosecute us criminally. Not to mention this same Attorney is sueing us on this police officers behalf.
This Attorney did not work for the solicitors office nor did he have permission from the Solicitors office to prosecute this case. We were found Guilty of Harrassing this police officer soley because we talked to the media and the Newspapers and we reported him to his boss. This officer got on the stand and admitted that me and my husband had never spoken to him within that last year, but he claimed that we harrassed him by calling his boss and putting him on the news.
We where charged with a crime because we spoke out against a officer who was racially profiling. We had the best lawyer possible, but South Carolina is a dirty state and the Mayor of Bonneau married the daughter of Fleetwood Dennis. Years ago the Dennises ran the state of South Carolina and they still have some pull to get what they want. W
e appealed this Judge decision before a Circuit Judge and it took this Judge almost two months to affirm the previous courts decision. This is an outrage. Our Country is fighting terrorists and little do they know we are prisioners in our own country by fellow Americans. South Carolina is so dirty that I feel as though we will never get a fair decision. Where in America do citizens go to jail for voicing out against racism in the police force. ONLY IN SOUTH CAROLINA!

Is there ANY way my contact info can be given to this person making the complaint. We ALSO had MASSIVE PROBLEMS with the SAME JUDGE. It cost us our HOME, our home on the LAKE, another lawsuit on the lost of the 1st HOME, 18 months 0f AGONY with my husband FIGHTING THIS POLITICAL FIGURE as well as 2 OTHER LAWSUITS. This needs to be STOPPED. We made a FORMAL COMPLAINT to the ATTORNEYS GRIEVANCE COMMITTEE on this JUDGE AND THEY STILL LET him hear OUR lawsuits. There were 12 FELONY WARRENTS in an ATTEMPT to OCVER up MASSSIVE INSURANCCE < MEDICAID & MEDICARE FRAUD by FRIENDS and FORMER PARTNER of this SAME JUDGE. THIS HAS TO BE STOPPED, we are in the process of looking for an ATTORNEY to SUE this JUDGE and COUNTY over this prosecutorial MISCONDUCT. They were presentations made to the GRAND JURY that were PERJURED. PLEASE HELP US BRING THIS TO LIGHT AND OBTAIN JUSTICE!
