Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I was born and raised in the area (Ticonderoga).  Joined the military 13 years ago and have been station in Japan, UK, Hawaii and various US states.  Until yesterday I had not been to the Great Escape in 20 years.  We looked up the tickets on my phone the day before and was a little disappointed with price but said to myself 6 flags owns it now, it must be a really nice park.

First trying to buy tickets from an Iphone is not possible, but the website does not tell you this, it just keeps roatating you through different worthless pages.  Second parking cost $20 and takes 20 minutes to get through the gate.  I can see trying to charging for parking when your in a city and are trying to limit the amount of cars coming in.  The park is in Lake George a small town that has no buses, trains, or taxis to take to the park.  Privately owned vehicles are the only mode of transportation.  Trying to get into the park took us 30 minutes.  The people crowed around different entrances, season ticket, ticket, no ticket, online ticket, preferred tickets, fast pass (aka rich people line) tickets and the several entrances that are fake and lead nowhere.  They need one person to direct everyone to the correct line!

Once in the park we were happy but our happiness did not last long.  We went up to the frontier land and rode a small roller coaster and notice that it was in need of some serious painting.  A yellow line on the floor is suppose to let the next riders know to stand back, my guess for safety reasons.  The ride conductor spent a total of 10 minutes while we were there yelling at people to stay behind the line.  10 dollars of black paint telling people to stay back would fix this, or a ride attendant next to the people would also move the line quicker.

Spent 10 minutes getting two beers, 1 soda and a pretzel and cost $40.  The girl was too young to serve alcohol and had to go get an adult to serve our beer.  Drinks from vending machines cost 3.50, why are they double the rest of the world?  My guess because they do not allow outside food or drinks and have no shaded areas like other theme parks.  Waited 45 minutes for the swan ride, 3 boats only two used.  Used to be at least 4.  They take you through the greenest water I have ever seen under rusty bridges and do show you a few reminders of the good days the park had.  The driver says nothing.

Cinderella looks nothing like Cinderella and wears the wrong color dress.  My daughter tried to win a prize on the rope ladder and I told her to only use the ropes, the attendant told me you have to step on the wood part only, of course she failed.  No where when explaining the rules did they say you have to step on the wood.  Discussing robbery!  The small classic cars are so classic only a couple of their horns work.  I asked the old man working there if any of the horns worked and he said two or three.  He has asked management for years to fix them but they refuse to.  The entire park has not been painted in years and it is sad.  We ate at an indoor medieval establishment and really had a hard time.

First the line was huge and was hard to figure out, one employee sat and watched as everyone went to the left line and did not tell people to come to her line, she just stood there for 5 minutes and loved not doing any work.  Second there was a fight between two customers when some cut in front of them, employees did nothing to stop the fight.  Again kids needed to get an adult to serve beer.  The kids meal took 10 minutes due to a lack of chicken.  The menu price listed kids meal as 7.99 and they charge 8.99.  The manager says they need to fix the sign.  Nothing they can do.  Also someone brought a chicken sandwich to the front and said they were told it was covered under the meal deal.  The manager rudely said no and said leave the sandwich.  I guess they threw it away because there was a bite out of it.  The meal for four of us was $70 two cheeseburgers fries, two kids meals and 4 drinks.  The worst cheeseburger I have ever eaten, worst then fast food quality and very cheap.  No employees cleaned while we were there, dirty trays and trash sat for 30 minutes on the table next to ours.  It was 2 pm not the peak lunch time.

We next took the kids to the water park and enjoyed watching the kids play on the rusty dirty slides and looking at the chipped paint on each ornament.  Why they don't paint I do not know!!!  Some of the water play areas are dangerous due to the metal pieces attached to recycled play areas.  I sat in a cheap white chair that you would find at walmart  while the kids played in the water.  No towels, and $15 lockers, yes $15.  The last ride of the day, we wait in the sun for 35 minutes, no shade like all other theme parks, and no fans.  We get to shade and try and figure out where to sit in the coaster and never have I seen such a gaggle of people in my life, please, please put someone there to direct people.  You will decrease wait time and make your park seem less disorganized.  The amount you charge for food should pay for a thousand extra employees daily. Anyways the ride breaks down right before we get on and the attendant tells us he has no idea how long to fix it.

Disgusted with our day we head to the exit of the park and stopped by the caricatures stand to get the family drawn.  The guy drew the best photo of us I had ever seen and was happy to pay $70 for his work of art.  Ron was very nice and offered the only happiness of the day.  Oh and the Sasquatch ride was good.  The owner and managers of the park should be ashamed.  I would never go back, and would never recommend anyone to go there.  This is a true story of our day at Six Flags Lake George NY.  P.S.  I have been to 20 or more theme parks around the world but the Great Escape has turned into the worst place on earth (I have been to Iraq).
