Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I recently bought a computer at auction from shopgoodwill.com. The conputer was an older Asus that had been donated and was listed as including a 120 GB SSD which considerably drove the price up for the item. When it arrived there was no SSD included. I notified customer support at [email protected] and recieved an email reply saying that my complait had been recieved and forwarded to the selling location (I noticed the agent had it classified as low priority, you would think that retail fruad would rate a little higher but there it is). I waited a week and didn't hear anything back so called the selling location directly Goodwill of Silicon valley in San Jose and spoke to a man who sounded young who took my report and phone number and assured me he would have his manager call me which to date hasn't happened either

In my experience, shopgoodwill doesn't take misrepresentation of their merchandice to be a serious issue as is show by my report being given a priority of "low". When you contact the selling location that misrepresented their merchandice directly they ignore you and expect you to just go away.

I don't know if this is something I should add and if it's not a moderator should feel free to remove the next part.

I also noticed that items that were not being bidded on for the first 6 days of an auction would be bid up greatly 4-8 hour before the end of the auction, this is very common and really gives the impression that people working for good will are artificially raising the prices. If an item is listed for $30.00 an actuall bidder would wait until the last minute to try and get the best deal he could not double the price to $60.00 many hours before the ending, add to that that many of these items are relisted soon after. While some may be actuall bidders defaulting on payment, it seems to happen often enough that that is unlikely to be the only cause.

Believe me I'm not happy to report a organisation that helps the disadvantaged but people need to be made aware of such bad bussiness practices even if done by an otherwise laudable organisation.
