Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

On Nov. 21, 2013 I purchased a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 from Semo Trailer LLC.  They required a $1,500 deposit but they asked that I give it to them in cash or a money order but, the money order had to be from the "post office".  I thought that was a little strange but, I made sure that I got coppies of everything that I did.

On Nov. 26, 2013 I was on my way home from work and I heard a really loud noise and the truck started driving really strange.  Then it wouldn't go over 30 miles per hour.  So I got off the highway and decided to go to the nearest transmission shop.  I arrived at Aamco Transmission Repair Shop.

I was in the shop for about an hour before they were able to tell me what was wrong but, the guy that come out told me that he didn't have good news.  That there was severe transmission damage and that it would be a guesstimate cost of $1200.

I immediately called the sales person that sold me the truck name Laura, she said she would call the owner name Mike immediately and have him call me.  Well at least 30 minutes passed and I still received no call.  So I called Laura back and she said that her boss named Mike was in a meeting and unreachable but would be calling back as soon as possible.

So I left and went home and then received a call from Mike he said that he wasn't going to be a bad business person and would help with the repairs.  He said he would pay for half even though I felt as though he should have taken care of all of it since I had only had the truck for 5 days!

In the mean time I sent in a complaint to the Better Business Bureau just to cover myself. I also made Laura that I had made a complaint to the Better Business Bureau but, would drop the complaint if he would take care of the portion that he agreed.  She said no problem and that she would inform Mike.

Mind you that we never had a number for Mike only Laura and they wouldn't provide that number to us.  In the mean time I was in conversation with Fred Hoff the manager at Aamco Transmission.  He was familiar with Mike because he had worked on previous cars that he had.  So Fred called Mike and spoke with him and Mike made arrangements with Fred to come to the shop and pay his portion which would be $900.

On 12- 4 the truck repair was complete.  Mike told Fred he would be in to pay his portion before the close of business.  Needless to say he never showed up.  Fred and I both tried to call and he sent his phone to voice mail.

Mike then called me and asked what was I trying to do to him by contacting the BBB?  I told him that I needed to cover myself but, it would all be dropped once he kept up his end of the agreement.  He said ok.  But, he then called Fred and said that he couldn't come and pay becaue he was snowed in.  Fred agreed to come to his home and pick it up if it was easier.

He has avoided all calls!  I had to pay the full amount of $1994.78 for repairs not including the truck rental of $267.00 for 3 days and a missed job!  These people are liars and scammers and I wouldn't advise anyone to buy a used matchbox from them!

Customer gave Semo Trailer LLC a check from an account with insufficient funds so yes Semo Trailer LLC did insist on cash due to the customer's history. Customer was offered a warranty that would have covered issue but declined. Semo Trailer LLC made good faith effort to resolve for customer even though nothing was actually owed to customer.

Calls from customer were not once avoided. After harassing texts, phone calls during the middle of the night, and slandering our company name on several websites - YES Semo Trailer LLC did cut all communication with customer and stopped trying to help them.

Semo Trailer's business was with customer only not a 3rd party transmission shop that customer tried to involve. Coincidentally customer wrote transmission shop a bad check as well and they too have washed their hands of interactions with this customer.
