Well okay last summer I was conned by some dude to buy a protection agreement for my lawn mower I bought at Sears at the Pine Ridge Mall in Pocatello/Chubbuck that costs an extra $70 that claims my mower will be under warrenty for an extra year & claims that if my mower breaks down duing that time they would ship it off to a Sears Repair Place to have it serviced free of charge & also promises a free rental while it's getting serviced.

Well I turned around and bought one since Sears was good about like giving me a new mower when mine breaks down but of course I only had it for like under 2 months at the time & as long as it wasen't over 90 days from the date I bought it.

Well okay about 2 days ago my self propell on my mower quits working and it isen't the belt & it was in the little transmission on the mower, well since I had the mower for only 7 months I decided to take my mower to Sears in Pocatello to have it serviced since I had a protection agreement for it & it was under warrenty & I knew that they would give me one to rent while mine was getting serviced cause I do lawn care for a living & all. Well I go in there, with my recept & agreement & had my mower with me & I show it to them & told them what was wrong with it, well they tell me that it would take 3 weeks for it to get back here since they had to ship it to Salt Lake ot a Sears repair center, well I tell them that I need a mower to rent since that was part of the agreement ( that's what got me to get it in the first place so that I knew no matter what I would never be without a mower ) well some guy goes in back to see if there was a rental one in the back that they could give me to use while I waited for mine to get serviced so that I can have a mower to use. Well anyways they freaken tell me that they don't have any rental & I would have to check back like next wednsday but I told them I needed one to use NOW cause sh*t I have customers that depend on me & I thought what the f**k! Well I got really pissed off & I even told them that I can't be without a mower & the dips in the store kinda acted like they didn't give a crap. I thought to myself if they don't have any rental, why the f**k can't they just give me a new one to use (which they wouldn't) at least while i'm waiting for mine to get serviced.

Well anyways since they were being such assholes I decided the heck with it i'm gonna try to fix the d**n thing myself cause I can't be without a mower or else i'd be at risk of losing business so I ended up wasting about 2 hours of my time going to & back from Pocatello when I should of been working plus over $15 in gas for nothing when I was expecting for them to either have my mower serviced & for them to loan me a mower while mine was getting serviced at least or possibly for them to just give me a new mower but no the dips srewed me over.

I know i'll never buy a protection agreeement or anything like that from Sears ever again cause they are nothing but a waste of money - definetly not worth no f**king $70!

I reeccommend that if anyone at Sears ever tries to sell you some extended warrenty or protection agreement when you buy a lawn mower or something - tell them NO cause you will regret it, especially if the people that worked at the store were a crooked as the ones in the Pocatello/Chubbuck Sears! I know after this episode I would be shopping at this Sears unless I absolutely had to!

if you're using a product for a business use like your lawn mowing business, you are NOT eligible for a sears protection agreement. It is there in the black and white print in the pamphlet you are supposed to get with you agreement. every business gives you a pamphlet with an extended warranty, sears is no different. If you gave them your phone number and put in your personal information and not your business information when you were checking out at the register then you were falsifying information, otherwise they should have told you that you could not purchase the extended warranty. If you did purchase it and then found out that your business use item wasn't covered, they usually give you 1 full year to get a full refund on your extended warranty purchase. Everything is in the print.

The problem that sears has is this. The fact that the said being who filed the complaint was not given a rental mower is not the companies fault so much as it is the fault of the associate who was helping the customer. The sears protection agreement is a great agreement. It covers most everything that could go wrong with the product. We constantly have issues where people refuse to get the warranties on these products and then when their stuff breaks they come back to us demanding it be fixed when we had told them in the first place that after the 90 days is up there is nothing we can do. The point is the customer did get his product fixed. i guarantee you that the limited warranty would not have covered the transmission and for him it would have been cheaper to just buy a new lawn mower.
