Sears Deceptive bait and switch business practice Dallas Texas
I went to Sears on "black friday", at 5am to purchase the advertised Samsung washer dryer pair for $999.99 I stood in 3rd line for almost 2 hours and then the associates took names, numbers, and the description of the appliances we wanted and told us that they would call. When I inquired about a rain check, she said that she didn't know anything about them.
3 days later, I got that call and it was to tell me that they are offering me a more inferior product at the same price. I "e"d management but got the stock apology indicating to me that they hope I am enjoying my appliance purchase.
I am remodeling my house before I move in and I want to have all new everything. You would think that in these lean times, a big store like Sears would bend over backward to get my business, and several grand at that. I feel that they should honor their advertisement and not do the old bait and switch. I feel that I was led on illegally by their advertising.

I did see that washer dryer set in the ad I just checked the sears.com site and the set is not on there so what more than likely happened is that item is not available and store could not get a delivery date or order on it. This happens all the time and for a few reasons but it's usually because the Sears buyers did not buy enough of the item and are waiting to get more from Samsung. Now if the store sold you something else without your consent I would contest that transaction. As far as getting that set at the ad price it all depends on the local management and if they already gave you the shake off it sounds like it won't happen. Management can usually track down when an item is available or get an order on one, in my experience as a manager I have been able to track down anything from Hot Wheel Cars to the major appliances but it depends on hard the manager wants to work. I always hated this about Sears, there were times where I only got 1 or 2 pieces of a sale item drove me crazy.
