We purchased a Carrier Central Heat and Air unit from Sears in December 2006. We paid twice as much for it and bought a 10 year extended warranty from them. We chose Sear because we trusted that they would stand behind there product and services. I do not have that kind of money extra. We had been saving for a long time to have this added to our home.

When they first installed it - It looked awful. They put the inside unit in a little closet in the living room. They tore the door and the door facing up and just left it that way. During the summer you could feel the heat coming out of the door. They told me that I could get me some styrofoam and put in behind the door.

The out side unit was placed on the side of my house and the hoses and tubing went up into the top attic vent of our house with no coverings.

It looked terrible. So finally after I complained numerous times they came back and put a gutter tubing over it.

The first summer the unit would not keep the set Temperature. I called and had them come check it and everyone told me that it was normal that the unit would only cool the house so many degrees below the outside temp.????

When I asked other companies (Not Sears) they told me that if the unit was the correct size and the house was insulated properly that it should keep the set temp.

Sears never agreed and they finally sent a service guy to replace our thermostat with one that we would have to set to cool or heat only.

W ehave continually had problems and nothing has been corrected.

Latest issue Water was pouring form my ceiling (from the unit) So I call and they send someone different per my request. He says there are holes in my drain tubing and he repairs them. (Not replaces them)_. That was a Thursday night. So on Saturday I notice that my carpet is wet from the unit. We call again and they say that they will have a service person come the next Friday...??? There is water in my house, carpet ,ceiling and clothes.

Anyway to make a long story shorter. They came on Tuesday and replaced the tubing. On Wednesday still more water in the carpet. I called again they sent someone on Friday then he says that it is the water pump and he does not have one so he will be back the bext Tuesday. This is no covered under our warranty.

I am very unsatisfied and would just like to have a whole new unit installed by someone else and my money back.

They seemed so unconcerned and I will never use them for anything again.

We have only had the unit for not even 2 years and we have had major problems. I do not have more money to buy another one. We just need someone to help us get our house fixed correctly and make sears refund all our money adn pay for damages.
