Looks like Pennsylvania is now the state where Scotts Lawn can no longer mistreat their employees. According the to Foster v. Kraft Foods Global, Inc. ruling, the fluctuating workweek Scotts Lawn was using to calculate overtime pay is in violation of the Pennsylvania Minimum Wage Act.
That means that Scotts Law is in direct violation of state of Pennsylvania's employment laws, ie, many former & current employees are bringing valid overtime suits against Scotts Lawn in PA. First Truegreen & now Scotts Lawn. Hopefully more changes in state laws will make these lawn care companies treat their employees right, or at least raise their costs so local lawn care companies can fairly compete against them.

Scotts Lawn is EXPLOITING THE UNEMPLOYED AGAIN THIS SPRING!! BE WARY! You will utilized as an order-taker and you will be trifled with. This so-called job offer is not about actual work. Its about exploiting the unemployed. Regional manager John Marengo is the architect of this sick success plan and Scotts brass in Ohio will look the other way while he uses cronyism to pull your strings and yank your chains. He himself ducks and avoids you you all summer long. He will however, call in daily, to see how you are responding to The Treatment. It is SEASONAL work only - THEY WILL NOT TELL YOU THIS!!! The work pays less than $500.00 per week for a 75 hour week. They will give you 20 or more homes to visit over a 100 mile radius and they will not let you start your trip until 9AM. They will expect you back no later by 4PM. They will hand you confusing and inaccurate print outs from of a map drawn in 1960. You will not know the roads and you will make 30 U-turns per day. Because you will never make it back by 4PM they will make you stay late to take/make phone calls as a "make-good". They will keep you as late a 9PM. They will fuss about the number of calls you made and force you in on Saturday mornings too. NO OVERTIME !!! You will have to violate local speed limits to make decent time on your trip. You will get credit for just enough "sales" to meet-the-minimum no matter how many you write or are entitled to. You WILL be TERMINATED without warning in September or October 2009. ************* YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED********************
