Dear School of Communication Arts,

2 years have passed, and oh how I wish I had found the ripoffreport.com earlier. As you would have received at least 17 letters from the class of 2003, or at least would have been 2003 if everyone had stayed to finish. You lied to us all, promised a great future in Animation, blah, blah, blah, you new all along that you didn't have the resources or quality of teachers to bring us to the level to even make a stick figure animation.

Not only did our computers crash a good 30-40 percent of the time, but our teachers had to read from the books to teach us?????? What is that???? I paid $20,000 to have teachers read from a book, computers crashing, and after all was said and done, NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT!!!! ONLY BILLS AND MORE BILLS! You brought in eager young minds and you turned us all into poor bitter souls with little hope of ever achieving our dreams, say hello McDonalds to the School of Communication Arts graduates!

In short folks, Do Not Go to the school of communication arts in Raleigh, NC.

Overpriced, Poor Equipment, Bad Experience, Don't Go!

Instead, go buy 5 animation books, read them, practice, do it yourself, you'll learn more and save $20,000

I've had a much worse experience while at a particular community college than the School of Communication Arts. In fact, my experience has been very good there. Unfortunately, I hear fellow students complain about certain teachers, one of which I know they shouldn't be complaining about. They say she doesn't teach, but from what I've found, she does teach, the students just don't listen for some reason. They accused her of not knowing the software, when in fact she does know it. She knows lots of different software, and sometimes she confuses the steps to do something from one peice of software for another. When you know so much software like that, that's easy to do, even if you're a teacher. But I've learned a lot from that particular teacher. There is another teacher now that I am hearing complaints about that I don't think they should be complaining about, as I'm learning a lot in that class. I know things have happened in the previous school history, but from what I've seen the school has gotten its act together for the most part. It's not perfect, but no school is perfect. I had an experience in community college where all a few of my teachers did was read from the book. And you know what? I was still able to learn. If you go to other schools (especially 4 year schools) you will probably find teachers who aren't nearly as good as those at the School of Communication Arts. I've heard stories about teachers at 4 year colleges using Star Wars books as an English text books! If people think SCA is bad, I think most of them will be disappointed when they go to other schools out there.
