Mark- That's the exact same thing that happened to my boyfriend and I who rented a truck from them Thanksgiving Day 2004 and not even 9 hours after receiving it, it broke down on the off ramp of our exit- we didn't even make it off the highway yet. The so called emergency hotline is just that an answering machine no one would call us back either. However, unlike your situation we were promised a new vehicle- yeah, but that never happened. After literally waiting with the broke down truck for four hours one day we called and they swore up and down that the new one was on it's way and the following day the old one would be towed back. The next morning they did come get it, but never brought a new one and we were stranded in Yuma. Besides cursing up and down at my boyfriend and blaming him for their faulty vehicle they will not help us or talk to us any longer. We asked to speak to the owner, "Al", who is always too busy or out of the office so some guy by the name of Keith who previously hung up numerous times said that he was taking care of it, so my boyfriend asked who he was in the company and he very obviously couldn't understand the question so he restated it "are you the president, owner..." and this guy had the nerve no joke to say "George W. Bush is the president." It's just that a joke to them. They are getting away with all of our money and there seems to be nothing that we can do. I would be more than happy to discuss this with you, the EDitor says they are sending you my info!
