We needed the sludge cleaned out of our sewer in order for a city inspection camera to fit through, so we called a neighborhood plumber. He referred us to Roto Rooter, as he did not have the flushing machine that they would use, and recognized this would do a superior job.
We called Roto Rooter, and they sent a plumber out fairly quickly. I explained to the plumber that we needed the whole sewer line cleaned out in order to fit the camera in. He used a power snake on the laundry tub drain, which leads to the sewer, and because the water flowed more freely I did not think to question it (after all, the plumber is supposed to be the professional, not me).
When the city came back to inspect, the camera still would not fit through, for the same reason. When I called and spoke to the owner, he was extremely rude, continued to argue with me (telling me I should have told the plumber which tool to use), and the only thing he offered to do was send another plumber, at full price (the job has a 90 day warranty on it). When I said he won't get any further business from me, he proceeded to tell me of the thousands of other customers, giving me the impression that he did not care at all about customer service. $150 down the drain, literally.
