Roark Vacation Travel Club Ripoff Lied, Misled, ripped off Branson Missouri
In June 2006, my wife and I attended a presentation in Branson, MO by Roark Vacation Travel Club. Their presentation showed fantastic savings on condo rentals, cruises, air fare, luxury hotels, car rentals, and "hot deals" which were great last minute savings on vacations and cruises. The prices that they were showing for various vacation packages and fares were well below anything I could find on my own. I was even told that I could recoup all of my investment with the savings just off one Greek island cruise. Shame on me, I bought a membership for a little over $3,700. Several days later when I returned home, I decided to check out some of their deals. What a shock I found!
By going to FREE web sites such as Vacations To Go, I could meet or beat any deal that I could get with Roark. What did I pay over $3,700 for when I could do better for free?? When I called them, I was told it was past the 48 hour cancellation period and they could not void the contract. Of course when you are traveling to Barason, they are counting on you to stay several days and by the time you get home, it is past the 48 hour cancellation period so they have you.
Regardless of what rebuttal they present,the bottom line is this: I spent over $3,700 to get great vacations, ect at highly discounted rates only available through Roark Vacation Travel Club. However, with very little effort on the internet, I can get the same, or better deals on my own for free. Their presentation was very misleading at best, and out right fraudulent at the worst. As of today, November 18, 2006, there has been no resolution.
