Three of my family members and I went to the Roark Vaction Club presentation. It was explained that the membership would cost $8000 plus but the program sounded too good to be true so we considered it while waiting for Jane Roden, the sales associate to come speak with us. After hearing her presentation we told her we were interested but had no desire to spend the amount she was asking. We were told this was not a problem, if all three bought we could get it for $6000. And since we already owned a timeshare they'd make it $5000. We all made the purchase then returned to our timeshare condo and began searching the internet. Finding many articles advising against the purchase we had just made we returned to the office the next day (We had three days to cancel).

When we advised we wanted to cancel the purchase and explained the internet research the representatives acted in amazement. They offered to sell us the program now for only $1000 and when we once again refused the offer they said they'd give us a free trip to Alaska and $1000 and we could make up our minds after the trip. We refused again knowing that if we accepted the offer our three days to change our minds would be expired. Roark Vacation Resort is a lovely place where the accommadations are great and everyone is pleasant. This vacation club presentation almost ruined our stay and has taught us to never ever attend another sales pitch presentation. Thank God for the three days to cancel and we sympathize with those who discovered too late and are still fighting to get their money back.
