River Haven MHP Increased rent, Water bill over $100.00 a month, No longer 55+ Park Ruskin Florida
This was a nice community when I moved here 5 yrs ago. The park was sold 2.5-3 yrs ago and our water bills have skyrocketed. Our rent has increased from $350 a month (when the new owner puchased it) to $425 a month (we had a $30 increase this last Jan.)
Our water bills have increased by 3 times the rate it was when the new owner bought the park. I used to pay $40-50 every 3 months, now I'm paying over $100.00 a month! That's a month, NOT every 3 months as before. We have contacted the State of Florida, we have contacted the Hillsborough County Water Dept. and cannot get any help with this Rip-Off scam.
The new owner has let younger families move into the park with their associated problems. I don't know how the owner can still advertise this park as a 55+ and older park. Again, we have contacted the State about this and it seems as soon as they contact the owners attorney, We, the residences, get a nice Kiss-off letter from the State.
The only thing to do at this point is to move. It's a shame, this was a nice park and now it's like every other crap MHP in Florida, all in the name of a New York Carpetbagger named Paul.
