Retriever Towing Illegal towing,and failure to update records portland Oregon
On 02/03/16 I myself as well as the property management company contacted retriever towing and provided a license plate number for a 2016 chevy malibu.
On 02/5/16 I entered the parking lot to see a tow truck blocking my vehicle, the car was not hooked up,the driver was beginning to place things around the 1st tire when I came out, I explained I was under the impression that he had to release my car since it wasnt hooked up, he told me to f**k myself and that I shouldn't have changed the license plate if I didn't want it to get towed.
I explained the vehicle plate had not been changed. the car was illegally towed on that day and released without charge later that day. It has been explained that the initial plate number was transposed by your employees and john at the sandy location told me his records were up to date and this would not happen again. On 02/18 my vehicle was illegally towed from my parking lot again at 130 se 105th ave portland,OR 97216.
The responsibility to update records was not mine,although upon paying $60 for a cab ride on 02/05 to get the vehicle I made it very clear to john I considered this to be an illegal tow, he explained it was in incorrect tow and he would make sure his records were up to date.
Was contacted by john and it was made clear that retriever towing would not be taking any responsibility for the removal of paint from the vehicle in which they administered,and that they would not be reimbursing me for any lost wages seeing as the car was taken and I had no other transportation. John suggested I should have found alternative means to get to work and explained they made a mistake. Understandable but at the end of the day my payroll check will be short $250 this week due to my absence on 02/18.
