Complaint Review: Rent A Center - Wheat Ridge Colorado

4/02 or there about, rented 36" TV and ordered 2 new recliners.

It took 4 weeks to get recliners and then "they" sent wrong color (one beige & one green - I ordered 2 beige)Well they reordered - Told me they wouldn't charge for chair rental until I had the correct ones, so OK - the 2nd beige one came in.

RAC called me and insisted on delivering right then, well I couldn't just drop my schedule and appointments so they could deliver. So they started charging me rent and late fees on something they screwed up in the first place.

In May I needed a refrigerator, so, guess what I called RAC. They brought Frig. with only 1 shelf and 1 drawer for a (25.5 cubic frig) RAC told me it had only been rented out for a month. and that it was the same as new. The strange part was that

once it got to my home it had LOTS of knicks, dents and scratches.

I finally got them to order the correct number of shelves

and drawers it took about 2 weeks to have a complete refrigerator. HOW CONVENIENT IS THAT.

Well, low and behold, In July of 02, this "same as new"

refrigerator had the ice maker go out. It took almost 3 weeks for them to order a new one and come out & install it. They would only reimburse me for 1 bag of ice I had to buy. Do they think 1 bag lasted for almost three weeks in the middle of summer?

I too have been called numerous times a day. For the last several months I have had some serious medical issues that still have not been resolved and will probably be around for a while.

We are not rich people and not able to afford to just go out and make major purchases so, this is the only option we have when a frig is needed and there are no other resources.

We moved 10/02 and were in need of a washer/dryer (can't use laundry mat machines because of husb. allergies to detergents, bleaches and other chemicals) So, called RAC they delivered W/D - New. Gave me 9 days free???? YEAH RIGHT.

I made a couple of pmts then ran late. Well they wanted to pick up W/D. I told them fine. Some friends of ours called and asked if we still needed a W/D and offered to buy a new set as an early Xmas gift. We accepted.

They gave a $limit and we went shopping. We found and purchased an identical set as the Whirlpool we had from RAC for $563.00 inc taxes. RAC was Charging us a little over $1,900.00. That is about 3 and a half times the actual cost. Knowing that they but for less than the consumer can it is probable more than 3 & 1/2 times.

We came into a little money recently and Were thinking about buying all the contract out that will be almost $3500.00. We have already paid them that much and more. I have gone to the stores and checked and confirmed the purchase price of the items we have and know we have been had.

We were referred to and attorney that handles this kind of thing and have consulted with him and certainly have had an earful.

I currently have payout money (BY THE WAY, ITS ABOUT TIME FOR THEM TO CALL AGAIN.) i SHOULD SAY HARRASS AGAIN.

We were advised to hold buyout payment. I believe that we

have certainly been badly treated and there is truly no concern for the customer. There have been times ai have been late but I've always paid up inc late fees 'cause I can't loose the large amount That I've already paid them.
