Attorney on 8225 Falcon View Drive in Antelope .....
I sought Mr. Mills, Bar #146416 alleged attorney services July 19, 2002 or so to represent me in a civil action that I had filed. Paid the retainer fee's and other fees, in which at that time he was active with the State Bar of California.
On August 19, 2002, I noticed that he was "inactive". I called his office (home) and was told he will be back September 2nd and he will return my call. I called the court house to inquire about the "attorney on record", there was'nt one, I was representing myself.
August 26, 2002, I noticed that he was "not entitled". I sent Mr. Mills a demand letter August 27, 2002 demanding all of my "files" and all of my money "$6,500.00". He recieved this demand letter August 27, 2002 and to date I have not heard a thing from him, nor have I recieved my documents back.
I then requested a copy of his dicipline records and he had recieved numerous.
8/24/01 a "Notice of Disciplinary Charges" regarding violations of the "Rules of Professional Conduct" and violations of the "Business and Professions Code"
10/5/01 an amendment to the above
12/11/01 a "Notice of Disciplinary Charges" regarding violations of the "Rules of Prefessional Conduct" and violations of the "Business and Professions Code"
1/22/02 a "Notice of Disciplinary Charges" regarding violations of the "Rules of Professional Conduct" and violations of the "Business and Professions Code"
7/29/02 a "Notice of Entry of Default; Order Enrolling Inactive and Further Orders".
He took other clients similar to myself on an expensive journey of "Do Nothing" but spend the money and keep the files. So if this report can assist anyone, do your homework regardless of who referred you to an attorney. Mr. Mills is a disgrace to the field of law and to the public.
