I hate to sound cynical, but I agree that based on Jim's general (lack of) command of the English language, his computer problem probably resides between the keyboard and his chair. It's always amusing to read these posts from people who cannot compose a proper sentence, and who are then incredulous that they are not being taken seriously by the people who are being forced to waste time and money to listen to them at the store. General tip: if you cannot spell the product's brand name (in this case "Compaq", not "Compact"), you probably have no business using that product.

Although I have already responded to a duplicate of this complaint... If the system works for even three days, and then fails, you might try figuring out what it is you are doing to the system that causes it to fail after three days. Computers just don't fail that way. Since this is a duplicate of another complaint in which you state you had to wait six months, and it this one you say two, I would like to ask for clarification on that. The reason they won't offer you the exchange unless you buy the warranty is that they are giving you a working system, and you are taking it back broken. If it ever works, even for three days, it probably isn't a problem with the system, it's probably a problem with the user. This means that you are taking a working system, breaking the system, and then taking it back, expecting them to expend their resources to fix your problem, and so they ask that you purchase the extended warranty agreement which will provide coverage for your problem and some limited compensation for their resources. For the rest of my counter-arguments, I shall defer to my response to the duplicate of this report. In the future, please attempt to make your messages more clear, and do not post duplicates.
