I ended up selling my beautiful HP Computer to Star PC in Austin,Texas for JUNK PARTS! DO I HATE RADIO SHACK???? YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT! The tech who looked at it at another computer store which I will not name here said it looked like someone had been looking at something they weren't supposed to have been looking at and tried to delete something from the hard drive and may have learned that nothing is really deleted from the hard drive, he may have shorted it out and burned it up to keep the FEDS from finding out what he was looking at. If these guys really are looking at unauthorized XXX photos of kids or who knows what something needs to be done. IF they are stealing computers from Radio Shack and substituting their personal, messed up ones from home with forbidden images on them then WHAT ABOUT THE POOR CUSTOMER who gets stuck with what they think are new computers and have no clue that the pervs have loaded up the hard drives with YOU KNOW WHAT??? There is apparently nobody at Radio Shack who cares about this potential problem so that means the buyer had better beware --unless you are a computer expert and can read that hard drive BEFORE you spend yout money!!!!!! And there is the problem of the DELIBERATELY FADING INK on the cash register receipt that starts to fade when you take it out of the package and expose it to light of any kind. PROVE YOU BOUGHT IT HERE, HEH HEH HEH . So THAT is what happened when I tried to buy a computer from Radio Shack in Highland Mall in Austin,Texas from a bunch of lying, thieving thugs who preferred GANGSTA RAP music and apparently the lifestyle that goes with it... No telling what else you might be able to buy there. ASSUMING YOU ARE STUPID ENOUGH TO SHOP THERE! That place is located in one of the highest crime areas in the city of Austin and people are afraid to shop there. Gang fights are not at all uncommon there and it is a battlefield for ALL ethnicities.

After seeing all of the complaints that have been filed against Radio Shack on the Rip Off Report, I wish like everything that I had NEVER set foot in their store. I too was ripped off by the sorry people at so I had to take my complaint to the Attorney General of Texas after they ripped me off with a Compaq Presario 2200 too for nearly $1,000. I JUST FILED IT TODAY! I went to Compusa too to see if they would repair it and their repairperson at Compusa is not sure it can be repaired for under $1,000! So I have not the slightest idea what to do except to file with the Austin District Attorney for Fraud and/or Theft. I paid money for what was represented to me as a new computer NOT a piece of junk that only looks like a computer! WARNING! DO NOT SHOP AT THE RDIO SHACK IN HIGHLAND MALL IN AUSTIN,TEXAS! ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE AN OLDER FEMALE PERSON. YOU ARE A VICTIM TO THEM. A VICTIM TO BE RIPPED OFF!!!! DO NOT SHOP HERE! I am contemplaing theft and fraud charges now against them with the Travis County District Attorney. COMPAQ--HEWLITT-PACKARD was apparently illegally dumping JUNK COMPUTERS on the market so that persons who were not up on the latest SCAMS would be RIPPED OFF! I am going to go after BOTH companies! On behalf of senior citizens, women and other non-tech consumers everywhere! There was a rebate on this piece of junk too but I didn't get because I think somebody at Radio Shack KEPT IT!
