I tried to contact technical support using the 800-809-0349 and 800-395-5500 phone number listed on Quantex's web site on August 16th and 17th of 2000 and received busy signals. I have sent an email to [email protected] on August 18th, 2000 and did receive a confirmation email from Quantex that same day. This confirmation email states that Qunatex will contact me shortly, but this has not occurred as of yet.

I tried, again, to contact technical support using the 800/888 phone numbers on October 6th, 7th, and 8th. But each time the phone number(s) were busy or just rang. During this time I sent three additional emails to quantex and received a "Message status -- undeliverable".

I tried, again, to contact technical support on October 12, 2000 and received a busy signal.

I also tried to contact customer support and was able to be placed into the "queue". After a wait of approx. ten minutes, I was told by a recording that I should retry later and was "hanged-up on". I than tried the genaral sales phone number. I received a busy signal there also.

Since I cannot contact Quantex's technical support, I cannot get my waarranty laptop fixed!

I would NOT recommended Quantex!!!!

Quantex support doesn't exist because the company is long out of business.

They filed the following rebuttal to the above Rip-Off Report: Their email: [email protected] Their name: Gene Steinberg Their relationship to the company: Consumer Suggestion Rebuttal: Quantex support doesn't exist because the company is long out of business. I ran a story about it on CNET early in 2001, where I'm a Contributing Editor in the hardware area. My personal opinion is that computer buyers shouldn't avoid smaller or unknown companies unless they have a first-rate reputation and a reasonable degree of longevity. Stick with the majors, such as Apple, Compaq (even though it's merging with HP), Dell, Gateway and Sony. You may not always get all the technical support you want (service seems to get worse rather than better), but you will have a company who will be there to answer the phone when you call. Peace, Gene Steinberg
