My husband and I purchased three box spring and mattress sets. On the initial visit to the store, I specifically told Tim Masterson, the salesman...that I did not want a firm mattress like the one my husband chose. I explained that my back was extremely bad and a firm mattress didn't help it. Tim assured me that if I purchased the same set as my husband's (because it was a better quality) he would take a felt strip from it and the mattress would be softer. We bought the three sets.

My husband and brother are satisfied with their mattresses and box springs. However, I called Tim and told him I could not sleep on the mattress. . .it was too hard. I did wait three or four months. He said this was impossible. Please note. . .my girlfriend was staying with us from Arizona and she enjoyed the extra firmness of the mattress but I didn't. Tim insisted that he would change the box spring (it didn't make sense to me.) He said the box spring's firmness was the cause and again assured me this would take care of the situation. It did not.

I called again. I told Tim the mattress was no different. He argued with me. I was angry and told him he better do something. Well, he took the box spring again, and claimed he spoke with the owner of the shop and that they would make my box spring the old fashioned way. It indeed would be softer. It was not.

I called Tim Masterson and complained. He in turn, told me if I wanted a the mattress fixed he would pick me up and the mattress and I would have to watch what he was doing to correct the situation. I agreed. He asked that I call so that a time would be convenient for both of us. Well, I didn't call, because I was left in a situation that would not allow me to take the time to go there. My grandson's mother died and things have been hectic. I have been taking care of my grandchild.

On Friday, August 3rd, 2001. I called Tim and explained I just couldn't come in. He told me, that if I could work 40 hours a week, than I should make the time. I told him, I wasn't working 40 hours because of this situation. He told me to bring my grandson in would be an education for him. My grandson doesn't need that kind of education right now. He told me to spend the money on a babysitter. . .I said no. He told me he had his own problems that he was getting married on Saturday and wasn't going to be bothered. I told him a death takes precedence. Now, I was getting hot. I reminded him that it was his fault in the first place for not listening to me on the mattress. I told him, it was his idea to redo the box spring. It made no sense to me. His response. . ."GET MY expletive, expletive IN THE SHOP. I found out on Friday, that Mr. Tim Masterson is the owner and has been.

By the way, my girlfriend and I went into the shop (prior to my ex daughter in law's passing) and spoke with a salesman. Tim was out on errands. I tried out some other mattresses and sure enough, there was the one I originally wanted. The salesman couldn't understand Tim's logic either. My girlfriend is proof of all that has transpired except for Friday's conversation. I do feel I was Ripped Off.
