Purrfect Auto tune up and oil change special Rip-off Las Vegas Nevada
On March 7th,2001 we took my wife's truck in for the tune up and oil change special. This was at a PurfecAuto on East Charleston in Las Vegas. The manager, Jack told us we could pick the truck up in about an hour. We returned several hours latter. When we paid the bill, Jack told us the exhaulst manifold was cracked and the oxygen sensor needed to be replaced. Cost for the additional work- $300.00. We declined the offer and drove the truck home.
Enrout, my wife notice the truck was running rough and had a tendancy to stall out. It did not run this way prior to the service work. Because of these problems, she called Jack as soon as we arrived home. He insisted it was the manifold problem and tried to get her to agree to the extra work.
On March 9th, we took the truck back to PurfectAuto and demanded they corret the problem. Jack again insisted the manifold was cracked. He also stated they did nothing but replace the spark plugs, oil and filter. These things would not cause the problem we were encountering.
On March 10th, my wife took the truck to another shop. This shop found the problem. First, there was nothing wrong with the manifold as Jack had insisted. The spark plugs were the problem. Who ever put the plugs in, did not gap the plugs. Once the plugs were gapped, the truck ran fine.
I called Jack that day and told him what the other shop had found. He stated,"Never happened." He then hung up the phone.
