Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Hard hats are a necessity for myself and other homeowners who live adjacent to the Whisper Creek Golf Course in Sun City. Every time I, my wife, my sons, or my grandchildren step into my back yard or sit on my patio when there are golfers present on the course, their safety is in jeopardy. My home has been hit twenty-nine times over the four years that I have lived in Sun City. All of those hits have caused property damage.

Further, my neighbors and I have been narrowly missed with errant balls, any of which could have caused significant injury. This is a real danger, as evidenced by what happened to the man riding in his car on Algonquin Road when an errant ball from a driving range went through his sun roof and caused permanent brain injury.

What has been Pulte/Del Webb's (the builder and owner of the course) response to the safety concerns? Our neighborhood committee has met with the managers of the development and golf course several times with no resolution, other than cosmetic changes which have not addressed these significant safety issues. I suppose someone has to lose an eye, suffer permanent injury, or even worse be killed by a golf ball for these people to recognize the danger. I paid a significant premium for a golf course lot which now I can only approach with fear and trepidation. Is this the atmosphere of "peace, comfort, and friendship" that was promised in the sales brochure?

It is now over a year later, I hope you have some results from your complaint. I am looking into buying a new home with plute, and did not take into consideration that living in a golf community would cause such headace. I was very disturb to read such ugly comment from some reader I hope that they take into condsideration of others pain on there next comments. I want a new Home very much so and hope it is not my worst nightmare and if I do have a problem that the company will assist; and that others will be considerate to understand my pain as the old saying go If you don't have any thing nice to say don't say anything at all. I hope all is well with you and your grandchildren.

And by the way John/Richmond/Charlene. I'd definitely buy another Pulte house if for no other reason than to piss you off, watch the smoke come out of your ears, see your face turn red, watch you sputter with rage, see the drool run out the corners of your mouth and watch your lips tremble. Then you'll hop into your DTS and pull onto a busy boulevard without looking and cause a six car accident. Of course, you'll be unscathed and oblivious to it all as you drive along at 10mph. Priceless. A typical s****.. Finally, do you type your posts as Charlene in drag? The thought of a 70 year old drag queen is pretty amusing. Do you borrow your wife's underwear?

The OP is a real crackpot, as evidenced by the fact he has posted against Pulte for the same complaint under the names John and Richmond. It's pretty obvious he doesn't wear his helmet when he's in his backyard. Now he's posting as "victim" advocate Charlene from VA. Real convincing job John. I have a Pulte golf course house in AZ, not in a retirement community because I'm in my 30's. But you're right Kim. The s****.. They could care less about anyone but themselves. Well, now we'll just wait to see what psuedonym he shows up under next.

Why is the victim being harassed? I don't see a victim.

Charlene.. you want to take up for the poor, unfortunate home buyer that has been taken advantage of by Pulte. I want to know how just how the builder took advantage of anyone. They advertised home on the Fairways of a golf course. The buyers were willing to pay a premium for the property on the course. Then they are surprised that they have golf balls bouncing off of their house. Just what did they expect? It's not like the golf course was built behind exhisting homes. The golf course was there first and the homes were built around the course. The OP knew the golf course was there, hand picked the property, paid extra for it. He got exactly what he wanted. And I think that he's getting exactly what he deserves. I'm not surprised that this is happening around Chicago, it's just like the arrogant pompous "snow birds" from Chicago that I have had to deal with in the past. Here's a suggestion... MOVE. Go to the local beer store and stock up on empty boxes and start packing your crap and move somewhere safer. That way you, your kids and grandkids won't have to wear bicycle helmets 24/7 like wobblies.

Why is the victim being harassed? Obviously, Pulte has advocates in full force here!

Why else would the victim of the unethical practices of this company be subjected to the vicious name-calling and insults? Ahhhh....the old "rip the complainer to shred" tactic! I know it well as many corporations use it to intimidate the very customer base that supports them!! Nothing like being kicked when you're down, is there? Pulte can come in and take advantage and then use some of its money and influence to convince others to "stalk" the victims (a.k.a. customers left holding the bag!) incessantly! Oh....and out of the blue some rape victim comes forward, too, to complain about a statement the victim makes? Now that's real believable! Ahhh....I've seen that, too...the corporate-supporter coming out and changing genders all in the name of lambasting the victim more!! Give it a rest, you Pulte supporters!! It is clear from the nature of the complaints here that Pulte has a problem....a BIG problem!! If people are smart, they will find the Pulte complaints and learn the truth. I for one will now keep a very close watch on Pulte as it comes into my neck of the woods to propose a raise in the density of a development close by! I think some of Pulte's future customers...those who are going to be part of my own community....might want to know just what others have to say about the company!! Guess you figured out that the intimidation isn't going to scare me away from sharing my opinion about what I see happening! Oh...to the contrary....the insults made above and in the other post will just spur me into action.....against an unscrupulous company and for the poor, unfortunate home buyer who is about to make a dreadful mistake trusting Pulte to build him/her a home!!

Some Advice

Richmond/John, as I told you under your other post name, I too bought a Pulte/Del Webb house in a community in AZ. I bought a residential lot, a safe distance from the fairway, and cheaper too. Me and my then three year old son were walking by the houses on the golf course, when he said to me "I'm glad we don't live in one of these houses". and I said "why?" His reponse, "because they'll get hit with golf balls" He's almost 5 now, so next time you buy a house maybe he can give you some advice.

Richmond or John or whoever you are today: In your original post, you made the statement, "Our neighborhood committee has met with the managers of the development and golf course several times with no resolution other than cosmetic changes which have not addressed these significant safety issues". Today you made the stated that you had proposed a realignment of the fairway to management, and that this had been done for another homeowner. This sounds like much more than a cosmetic change to me. It appears that Pulte is going way beyond the call of duty to keep their homeowners happy. So, why would you post inflammatory statements about a company that has your proposal under consideration, and has already set precedent by re-aligning a fairway for another homeowner? Do you think this will improve your chances?

Yep, I'm going to move next to the airport and then make them get rid of the planes. This is the same argument as having a house built next to a golf course and whining about the balls. Unreal. Here's a thought. Since YOU are the one complaining about the balls, why don't YOU spend the money and install a fence to block the balls? Wait, I know...YOU want the other guy to pay for your stupidity. That being, YOU having a house built next to a golf course. People wonder why I drink.

Putle, Huntley, IL. dangerous surroundings

#13Author of original report

This is an answer to the two rebuttals I received on my posting of Dangerous surroundings. First of all, to the one entitled Not Sure. The word "adjacent" means "next to" in case you've never looked up the word. Secondly, I wonder if you would laugh if your ball bounced off my grandson's skull and you killed him. If so, you need help, which may be true anyway. In answer to the rebuttal entitled A Solution, that's exactly the solution I've proposed to management. The homes here have no back yards to speak of and are therfore too close to the fairways. I have suggested re-aligning the fairway where I live ,which, by the way, the builder has all ready done on another fairway because of homeowner complaints. I expect some danger and damage to the house. I live on a golf course. I object to the extent of the damage and the possibility of physical injury. The builder and owner of this golf course should make accomodations. Thank you.

Maybe you can get them to move the golf course! BTW - Try a hockey helmet with a face mask, they're a bit lighter and fit more secure.

What "adjacent" means. Does that mean you live on a fareway, on the golf course? "I paid a significant premimum for a golf course lot" What did you expect them to do, play croquet? I laugh when I bounce one of my balls off of their metal roof. It makes the nicest klang. It's kind of hard to drive a wiffle ball 250 yards.
