I am a current cardholder of Emerge Mastercard which originally started off as an Aria visa card (a branch of Providian), then I was informed by them that I would be getting upgraded to a GetSmart visa.

I was always ontime and never missed a payment. I was very satified until I learned that I no longer had an account with GetSmart Visa. I went online to pay my bill as usual and I tried to sign in and on the next page it said my account was transfered to an Emerge Gold Mastercard. This was done without my knowledge.

What made me incredibly mad was that they did this in the middle of my billing cycle before I could pay my bill. I was never sent any letters of any kind until after the following month when my bill arrived. Although I did call the number on the back of the GetSmart Visa to get the information to call Emerge.

Unfortunately for me my first payment was late because they had not communicated with me before hand. So now because of their in ability to inform me of these changes they changed my interest rate to 29.95% a month. I think they are unfair in this decision. If they would have sent the information out right away, so many people wouldn't be complaining about them. My question is why did they change my card in the middle of my billing cycle or maybe they did it purposely so they can get more money out of me.

NOt recieving statements from Emerge

I havent recieved a statement from Emerge since Feb. I still mail in my payments using my own paper and envelopes. I know what they are trying to do. They are hoping that I will not notice the statements not being sent out and that I wont pay so I will default. Well I have news for them, I am still gonna pay regardless of their thoughtless tactics. If this type of behavior continues on their part they will be hearing from my lawyer.
