Providian or Aria fraudulent ripoff business raised our percentage rate and did not notify us Tilton New Hampshire
My husband has a credit card through Providian, and I have a credit card through Aria. Both are issued through Providian National Bank in Tilton, NH. The reason we got these cards, is that they make it easier for people with bad credit or no credit to get credit cards. My husband had to pay an $89 processing fee up front, and on my Aria card, they charged my annual fee of $89 to my card before I got it.
I got my statement a couple of months ago and my husband was looking it over, when he noticed that my percentage rate was 29.9. We were both shocked as we have yet to receive any notification from them that they were raising my rate.
He then tought to check his Providian statement to see if his percentage rate had been raised, and sure enough, it had. Also to 29.9 percent. He was never notified either regarding the change. We are very upset as this makes it almost impossible to payoff.
Right now we are just paying a litte each month on the cards, as that is all we can afford. We just want to pay them off and get rid of them. We would really like it if they would reduce our percentage rates and credit us the outrageous amounts they charged us in finance fees, to make it a little easier to pay off the balance.
