This is a MUST read letter of Horror for anyone contemplating Progressive as their insurance carrier. It is in regards to an on going hostage situation which started back in the begining of April 2000, when I bought a motorcycle from a private owner and insured it with Progressive Insurance Company. Unfortunately it was stolen a few days after I purchased it.

I called Progressive and was asked to give a recorded statement about it. Then later that day give another by phone and then also to come in and give a 3rd recorded statement in person. Bewildered because the police hadn't done this much questioning, I thought to myself, They must really want to catch these thieves. How naive was I. When I arrived I was introduced to a Claims Investigator and an associate who ask me dozens of questions about the incident and myself. After the interview, I was told that if the police or Progressive had not found the bike after 30 days that they would settle my claim.

More than thirty days had passed now and still no word from Progressive. When I spoke with my claims rep., I was told no action had been taken to date. Was that my fault? After 30 days I should have been compensated, right? Wrong!!! After sixty days there had still been no action taken. So I called again & was told that there was a new investigator investigating the claim and that Progressive was sending me a letter requesting that AGAIN I take time off from work, come in and give yet another recorded interview, this time under oath. This now makes 4 interviews or statements of some kind! Once again being cooperative I took time off from work and went to this interview, which was an interrogation in disguise.

From the time I got there, in the presence of another Progressive rep., I was interrogated by the new investigator, like a witness in the Kenneth Starr investigation. The interrogated lasted from approximately 12:00pm until 1:30pm. I was asked to submit pay stubs from my job, last year's taxes, cellular phone bills, and sign a credit report authorization form. Well since everything on my end was legitimate, I just sucked it up figuring that, in the end I would be compensated for my lost. After it was over, I asked the investigator how long before this investigation and claim would be closed? I was told either by that afternoon or the next day.

A few days later my rep called in short to say, they were ready to settle. Then a few days later I get a letter requesting another under oath examination. But I was assured that it wouldn't take long. Once again I ended up being interrogated for a few hours of my time. I was forced to prove or convince them of my claim and that the bike was properly insured at the time of theft. So I answer all of their questions and filled in every gap. Finally, the investigator was assured that my story was correct and true and said that he'd authorize my rep to pay the claim.

But before Progressive was able to issue me a check for the claim, the police called to say, that they had found the bike wrecked and arrested someone. At that time my rep. then told me that I had no choice but to get the bike fixed. I tried to remind her after almost 4 months, I had already purchase another bike. She said that I must have the previously stolen bike fixed and that they would not pay me otherwise. I thought, well I can always sell it after it gets fixed. They said, "SUCKER!!!"

The dealer where the bike was towed to be fixed called and asked for the key because Progressive did not leave it with them. I called Progressive to get the key but was denied and told that the investigation was re-opened because the bike was wrecked with only a few hundred miles on it. Noooo...the theif couldn't have wrecked it so fast, after all he was probably a professional, right??? The dealer totaled the bike anyway. Needless to say, at this point my attorney and the State Insurance Commission got involved.

The investigator after harrassing the hell out of the previous owner for months, then offered to buy him all he could drink beer & liquor at a local bar while he conducted an interview. Later, Progressive in a letter to the State Insurance Commission claimed that, the previous owner said, that he had sold the bike to me in its now wrecked condition and that they also have a witnesses that claims the bike was stolen prior to me getting it insured with Progressive. Yeah, I laughed too. I believe that they said their witness was Cleo, "the Pyshic" (just kidding).

What will they do in court when the previous owner says, that they are flat out lying about the bike being sold already wrecked???? I guess call their next witness, "Cleo". Let this be a lesson to all you unsuspecting SUCKERS. Agrressive SUCKS!!!

Take heed like the hundreds of people that have asked me about my experience with Agressive. I mean Progressive.

HOW TO GET YOUR PROGRESSIVE CLAIM PAID!

#2Author of original report

Sat, March 01, 2003

This is for all those poor unfortunate SUCKERS...I mean people like me that have had the mispleasure of signing up with Progressive AKA: Regressive, Agressive Insurance. Every time I talk with or hear about someone having been denied an insurance claim or getting the run around from their insurance company, it's always Progressive at the root of the story. For example: I was having guy talk with a gentleman whom I had never met before then about wanting to get new cars, motorcyles, etc. and he says to me, "You know, I would get me one of those new so & so motorcyles if my car hadn't just been stolen." I said, well what do you mean? Well, he says to me, "My car was stolen and now my insurance doesn't want to pay the claim, so I might have to come out of my own pocket to get a new one instead of buying a motorcyle." I say to him, "Let me guess, you've got Progressive?" He almost jumped out of his skin. "How did you know that, are you some sort of psychic, he asked?" I just laughed. Now to the point. From personal experience and the stories I've heard from dozens of people not to mention the dozens I've read about, If you want to get your claim from Progressive paid there is only but 1 solution. I just wished I would have done it right after Progressive started greasing me up. You must almost immediately do this right after they start giving you the run around. Get an Insurance Attorney!!! I know they cost money but if you want what you paid for (your claim) then I strongly suggest you do it. You see after all my research over the past few years this seems to be the only thing that works. Progressive is betting that you will feel that getting an attorney is too expensive and troublesome and ultimately give up. They are playing a numbers game. If 95% of the people they do this to feel that way, they only end up paying 5% of their claims. I bet your like 95% of the people. Can you imagine all the money they are saving???? So, JUST DO IT! and save yourself a whole lot of headache. It worked for me. They knew that if we went to court, they wouldn't have a leg to stand on and would probably get punished for their deceptive actions.
