My wife and I booked a cruise on Princess. We had problems with Princess corporate office almost from the start.

We missed our sailing due to weather (nobody's fault). We called Princess to find out what to do. They told us to get to our first port of call (Barbados) and get on the ship on Sunday. That was it, no other assistance. WE had to rebook our flights and get a non refundable hotel room ourselves, not having any information on Barbados.

Upon arrival in Barbados, customs did not know we were coming. WE were not on the list Princess had given customs for the people who missed the sailing.

AS it turns out, 9 other couples missed the sailing. Princess had taken care of them, booking their new flights and putting them up in the best hotel on the island.

Princess took care of everyone but us. As it turns out there was a Princess represetative at customs. He was good.

He arranged for a taxi to pick us up at our hotel and bring us to the ship the next morning.

The ship itself was nice and the actual cruise was okay. ON the day of our arrival on board, there was a card in our cabin placed there by Princess staff, on Princess letterhead.

It informed us that my family had purchased a shipboard credit to be applied to our account. A nice gift that Princess obviously knew about because they processed it.

AT the end of the cruise we went to settle our account. The credit my family bought us was not applied. The people on the ship told us we would have to arrange it with the corporate office.

We called Princess and they told us that they could not credit us. The only thing they would do is credit it back to mys sister's credit card, the card upon which the gift was purchased.

MY family had gone to the trouble and expense of giving us a gift and Princess decided they were not going to honor it even though there was no problem with the charge.

My family was going to be forced to take back the gift and Princess told us we could just get the cash from my sister.

Princess would not even deal with our travel agent. In the end Princess sent me a letter. The letter essentially stated that they admit they screwed up for not making arrangements for us when we missed our sailing due to weather, and that they screwed up for not crediting our account with the gift from my family.

Despite their mistakes they were not going to do anything about it. They ended the letter saying that they hoped we would sail with them again. They must think I am stupid.

I wrote back saying that I would never sail with them again due to their absolute lack of responsiveness to their mistakes, and that I would tell everyone I could about how they acted.

So, if you want a cruise, stay off Princess. If something goes wrong, there is a good chance they won't give a s--t, or do anything to make it right.
