Primus Long Distance - Rip Off Trying To Get Out Of The Service Charging additional $$ even if you give the 30 days notice - Beware Etobicoke M9B 6K5 Ontario
I signed up for primus a few years ago at an airport kiosk.
first, The service is simply too expensive. They charge a $4.95 connection fee plus usage plus the "plan" fee every month and I have let this go on for too long.
Second, I called Primus on March 02 and tried to cancel my service and was told I must give 30 days notice or be charged an additional $5 for early cancelation, They also said to be sure the new service provider connects my new long distance a few days before the thirty days are up. I contacted Rapidtel (not a company i could find listed on "rip off report") on Friday March 20th for transfering service.
Today (March 25th) I received my Primus invoice and called to confirm my transfer status and some more extra billing details.
They told me that the service has not been transfered and if the service is transferred before April 02 (the 30days) I will get an additional "early cancelation" charge because it is less than 30days and if I get transferred on April 03 (31 days) I will be charged an additional rate because it is past the 30day notice. HELLO
Please AVOID this company! If you are already with Primus, cancel your plan now as they are going to charge you the additional fee regardless of the 30 day cancelation policy, The plan is to keep you using their long distance service for as long as possible...RIP OFF
