We are releasing this rebuttal reluctantly, in light of Primerica's present legal problems (by association with Citigroup/Citibank - see our reporting earlier this year on the connection with other scams; Enron & MCI).
If anyone makes contact with this lawyer, be aware that we have not checked out the situation. It is possible that they may be trying to head off a class action lawsuit, so be careful how much information you let out. It is our opinion that this is likely a ploy to get these problems out of the public eye so they can further victimize their victims and just give them the run around.
If anyone does contact this number, we would appreciate it if you would give us a report on how they treat you and what is offered.
That having been said, it is also very possible that Primerica has turned a new leaf and is now taking care of their consumer abuses. In that case, although we do not expect that they would admit culpability, but applaud their efforts to rectify the current situation they have created... which is a fiasco.
Sincerely,
ED Magedson
