I had not had satellite TV in the past because they never included my local channels, which I have to have. Anyway, 2 weeks ago, I saw a commercial for Direct TV, saying their service now included local channels in most areas, and service starting at $33.99 a month. I thought it sounded like a great deal, so, I called.
I talked for 20 minutes to the guy on the phone, he assured me that my local channels were included, at a rate of $33.99 a month. Being leery, I questioned him repeatedly, he checked and double checked, said YES, my local channels were included. He also said it was free installation, that they would send me a paper to sign and give to the installer to cover the $89.00 installation fee.
Also, that they would put me down for the following Friday for installation. So, I ordered the package.
Lie #1: I find out from the installer that local channels are not even available in my city, and there are no plans to have them available here.
Lie #2: "If" local channels had been available to me, it would have been $38.99 a month, not $33.99.
Lie #3: I would have to pay for installation, and wait for a rebate from Prime TV, not what the guy said that I sign a paper and give the installer to cover the installation costs.
Lie #4: The installer had my installation down for Monday, not Friday. Needless to say, had I known my local channels were not included, I would have NEVER ordered the system. I was lied to from the start, totally misled.
Now, I am returning the system, I never had it installed. They want ME to pay for the shipping !!! There would be no shipping had I not beem lied to from the start ! Because I would NOT have ordered it ! I should not be out one cent for THEIR "con artist" salesperson.
Anyway, trying to get any satisfaction by phone was useless... my dog would have made a better supervisor.
