Premiere Designs in Atlanta not what they claim to be
Ladies and Gentleman, Things are not always what they seem. After years of doing the remodeling ourselves, my wife and I decided to take a break and have someone else do the job. Well at the behest of a friend of a friend, we looked into hiring a good, well known, contractor they knew, to do a turn key job. The job in question was a simple sunroom addition. The salesman and the owner himself(Michael Kosterlitz) came to our house and presented their case. The claims they made sounded great we wouldn't have to do a thing but sit back and watch the project unfold and be completed in 5 to 6 weeks. That was lie number one. This was in September 2000.The job was not completed until a week ago, March 1st, 2001. 5 months? Lie number two was the fact, that after the hiring and firing of a multitude of subcontractors like water, that Premiere Designs had been doing these kind of jobs for decades and were number one in the metro Atlanta area, when in fact they were a siding company trying to break into remodeling business. This all came to light as employees spilt the beans, telling us that the statement above was false and that they had multiple complaints filed against them. The more aggrevated we became. My wife was made to sit entire days on several occasions(and this is being nice and understating) waiting on workers to show up and without a call from Premiere Designs that no was eventually going to show and work. Not to mention the rudeness she had encountered on the phone with one of their project co-ordinators. I truly feel if my wife had not stayed on top of them to come out here and work as gorgeoous days flew by and by, the job would still be ongoing. AND, on top of this, WE HAD TO TELL SUBCONTRACTORS WHAT TO DO AND WHAT WE WERE EXPECTING, I FELT LIKE WE WERE THE PROJECTS CO-ORDINATORS! They had no blueprints to work off of. Had we not been here to supervise the project every moment someone was here, we would not have, i.e. the gable windows that were in the original design...Oh ,we could go on and and on...The lack of courtesy within this company is appalling. When the job was completed, the owner himself(I guarantee he has never lifted a hammer) DEMANDED the entire balance, paid in full, on the spot, knowing good and well we were financing the rest of the balance and were still awaiting approval of our loan, which was probably less than a week away. You would think that, here my wife and I waited 6 MONTHS for them to complete a 6 week job, they could wait ONE WEEK for their balance. (well, we were told by the employee that was here to collect the $$, that the reason was they needed to close there books that day, being the end of the month of feb.) Shame! Bottomline, if you live in the metro Atlanta area, buyer beware of Premiere Designs, inc. if you are in the market for home improvements. Thanks for listening, Good day.
