The bank instituted some sort of a fee based on minimum balance among other things.  I had to withdraw the cash i had in there for an urgent situation, leaving less than the minimum balance. I understand fees and penalties, etc,  but one would think the bank would just take the amount left in the account and then close it.  You would think they would have the common sense and decency to just do this.

But no,....  they take the anal approach, they add additional fees and charges till the account shows as a negative balance and then to add insult they levy a different fee for having a negative balance. for whatever reason they stop at -137$ or some such ridiculous figure and they sell that off to some 3rd rate collection scheme.... NCO Financial Systems, what a joke.  i've gotten probably over 100 stupid messages from their automated drone calling system.  they use a couple of different versions,  one is a pseudo british accent babe,  the other is the drone. 

it'll probably be on my credit report for at least 7 years, it's not worth the time it's more the principle of the thing. thank you.

my only question here would be who do these people work for and what is their agenda?

I never claimed to be guiltless or perfect.   my actions were merely my own way of protesting the stupidity of the banks methods and policy.  there were no other upcoming transactions involved, otherwise there would have been further fees and penalties including those from the creditors of those other supposed transactions.

if banks want to impose fees it should be in exchange for a service.   Penalties and rewards could perhaps be administered via tiered interest rates, etc.   the bank made use of my $1000 for a period of years that i was not paid interest for.  for them to impose arbitrary fees for a balance going below x dollars and then when that causes a negative balance to add additional charges is just plain unacceptable. 

common sense will tell you there is a problem when banks are allowed to lend the same money to 10 different people at the same time.  if they are having to impose blatantly ridiculous fees and charges it only means they aren't providing enough desired services that people ARE willing to pay for.

You had outstanding transactions but had your "urgent situation" come up. So you withdrew the money that would have covered the transaction to cover the situation. This withdrawal took your account balance under the required minimum balance so you got hit with a monthly service fee. Most banks don't charge a fee on a fee so if nothing else happened you would have been okay. But then the outstanding transaction came in and I'm saying it was paid putting your account balance into the negative. You got hit with an OD fee and the bank has a fee for days continuously negative balance. These fees took the balance to a negative $137 where the bank decided to cut it's loss and closed the account and is using NCO Financial to recover their money. How close am I to what happened???

When the balance of the account is not enough to cover a fee charged (in most cases) the bank will access the full fee and send the account balance into the negative. This is usually covered by your next deposit. The negative caused by a fee will not ba accessed an OD fee, so you had something present that was paid. If the bank had just charged a pro rated amount of the monthly service fee and closed the account, two things would happen. You would complain the account was closed without your approval and the transaction presented would force the account back open anyway/ Sounds like you were trying to get out of paying whatever transaction you had pending and thought by taking the money out of the account that you wouldn't have to pay. Well, it turns out you do have to pay and also have an additional $137 in fees to pay.

You seem to know that the withdrawl was going to drop you under the threshold and the fees would eat up the rest of your balance. Why exactly didn't you just withdraw all the money and close the account yourself?

Your story is incomplete and not added up because every thing is bias toward you. Some (if not most) responsibilities could actually end up on you, not the bank. But from your report, you make it look like all responsibilities are on the bank. I would want to know the time line of the whole situation from losing the minimum balance until they sent you to a collection agency. An emotional report does not show facts but bias toward the writer...
