I answered an ad in Monster.com for a management position. Nick Anthony called me and offered me a job as a manager and a potential $60,000 a year position with Play to Win Sports.

I was to start off by promoting Play to Win Sports with flyers (actually small bookmarks) to sports stores, sports bars, college campuses etc. I would just have to pay $25.00 to $40.00 for these flyers/bookmarks to promote the site with and I would get my money back.

The catch was that actually I had to order 8000 of these and that I was billed up front on my credit card a total of $1920.00. I was never told that I would be paying $1920.00 to go to work for Play to Win Sports. Nick Anthony never told me I would be billed up front for 8000 flyers/bookmarks to the total of $1920.00.

I put the dispute to my credit card immediately and they went to work. However Nick Anthony and Play to Win Sports had tape recorded the conversation and sent a transcript to my credit card company. Funny thing is, in the transcript there is only his question and my answer "yes". All of my questions and comments are conviently deleted. They just reported the text book answers of yes to each question which makes it look like I knew I would be billed $1920.00 to go to work for Play to Win Sports.

My credit card company dropped the dispute with the evidence from Play to Win Sports produced. I called my credit card company and told them the transcript was not legitimate and that Nick and I had talked and that he said he would pay the interest on my credit card bill if I would just put out those flyers. Funny thing again though as I talked with my credit card company again. Nick would not be able to calculate the interest he would owe me as he would not know the balance or the interest rate. Based on my new information the credit card company is once again disputing the charge.

Play to Win Sports is not offering jobs. They are stealing your money. They are listed as a bad company with the Better Business Bureau.

Watch out for Play to Win Sports.

Their website looks like something my little brother in high school banged together in a weekend. The 'Copyright 2000' notice on the sites pages do not inspire much confidence either. The sites offerings look rather dismal as well, here's just a few: Girls In Swimsuits !! NFL Schedules !!! Sports Scores !! Sports Records !! Vegas Odds !!! Sports Polls !!! ESPN.....look out........ Now you know why Nick has to make his profit on the 'bookmarks'. There simply aren't enough morons available to pay money for accessing this web site to keep it afloat.

She should read and listen to the terms disclosed!

We pride ourselves on providing full disclosure to anyone interested in working with our company. Karen was sent a letter prior to her calling us that states that the optional flyers are 24-39 cents each. She requested 8,000 flyers and we told her that they were 24 cents each. We even tape recorded "Karen, do you understand that PWS will charge your credit card $1,920 for 8,000 PWS flyers at 24 cents each?" She replied, "YES". We told her that her minimum payment to her credit card company towards that full amount charged should be around $15-$45 per month. Just like when you buy a car on credit; you may pay $20,000 for the car and have a minimum monthly payment of $300, etc. Credit card companies give you two options when your bill comes each month, you can pay the full amount due or the minimum payment due. Karen was told in writing and on tape the cost of the optional flyers. Karen obviously did not read the letter we sent her or paid attention to the tape-recorded contract she entered into. She did not pay to go to work for us; she chose to purchase optional promotional flyers. We have never charged anyone to work for our company. If she wanted to make her own promotional materials or promote without any flyers she had that option. We made it clear in her letter that the flyers are optional. We are not listed as a "bad" company with the BBB, we have responded to all complaints. The BBB actually called us and offered us a BBB membership but we did not want to pay the large annual fee required to be a member. We understand that in today's business climate you cannot make everyone happy, even if you fully disclose all of the terms upfront before a final decision is made. It's unfortunate that a small percentage of society will compromise their own integrity to try and make a company look bad. Most of our customers and people that work with us are happy. Even the biggest companies in the world get complaints from people as a scare tactic to try and get out of a promise/contract that they entered into. Even when the company did nothing wrong at all. We have always kept our promise and honor the contracts we issue. Unfortunately, some people don't believe in keeping a promise or honoring contracts and will even lie or make up stories in attempt to extort money from a legitimate company.

There is a term, 'figures don't lie, but liars figure.' Well, somebody named Nick thinks they are a pretty slick figurer. I recommend anybody stuck with a load of these fliers attach personal testimonials to them and circulate them.
