Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Nick Anthony has taken the time to reply to all these rip-off reports. He has not taken the time to properly run his company. The only thing that saved me from being ripped off was that I dont own a credit card, only a debit card. That's when it came out that I was going to be charged 1920.00, not $25-$40 like it said in the hiring letter. No job should require a down payment, no matter what it is. If they conducted face-to-face interviews like 99.9% of companies do, they wouldnt have to worry about giving product to people who are not trushworthy. I look forward to the demise of this company.

This Scam Is like An Octopus

The tentacles of deceit are in motion. I decided to find out more about Nicks ISP, Quik International. Their domain regsitration reveals that they are based in Las Vegas,NV. What a coincidence! Backtracing the street address given reveals that it is a Mailboxes,Etc. location, another maildrop. There's a surprise. Turns out that the administrative contact is actually the Quik home base in Costa Mesa, CA, just down the road from Nicks hometown. The Quik ISP franchise that Nick deals with is located in San Clemente,CA, at the same address I found for Emcee Promotions. For the record, that Nick Pursell that is listed as the admin contact for the playtowinsports domain, may be our Nick. Some web searching revealed that there is a Nick Pursell Jr. who was a college baseball player at Palomar College in Southern California a few years back. He would be about 23-26 now. His father, Nick Sr., would obviously be older. One of these may be the actual contact. If there's someone in the area who could stop by Jimmys Tire Center in San Clemente and see which Nick is working there and post their findings here. As promised, this is getting real interesting....

If you look at the technical contact for the domain registration you'll find a 'Nick Pursell' shown as well as a street address and phone number. I was able to backtrace the 9-digit zip to the following business, at the same address: Emcee Promotions 800 S El Camino Real San Clemente, CA 92672-4274 (949) 366-0810 The phone number listed in the domain registration is not the same as Emcees. It is the phone number of a 'Jimmys Tire Center', located a few blocks away in San Clemente. Interesting. Check out the EmceePromotions website. They specialize in all kinds of promotional items (i.e. flyers). Coincidence?? I doubt it. This is also the address of the Quik ISP franchise (Quik Internet Of Orange County) which hosts Nicks website. It also handles Nicks online credit card transactions. Please let the local law enforcement know about these new players in the scam. I'm sure they'll appreciate the info.

Nick, You claim to be a legitimate business but you sure don't act like one. Yes, the letter you send says the flyers are optional, but how you you to promoter your company with out them. Your letter states that the flyers are the most effective marketing tool. What good employee would not want to use the best way for doing things. It should read , the flyers are the most effective way for you to scam people. The letter also states promoters are charged a SECURITY DEPOSIT for the flyers. What does security deposit mean to you. It must be different than everyone else in the world with one exception, I've heard the term used - Non refundable security deposit. That makes about as much since as yours. As a matter of fact that sounds more like what your IS. Of course there is your SPECIAL refund offer which basicly says that if you can earn the company enought money to refund yourself maybe you will get a refund. The problem with that is you must be as good of a con artist as you. Hopefully there are not many out there. You ask people to be professional enough to live with their mistakes, which is just what you are hoping so you can go about your business of ripping people off. Most people are professional enought to live up to their mistakes BUT that does not include letting someone rip them off. That is not their mistake, thats your mistake. As you can see we will not put up with it. You call PWS a legitimate business. No legitimate business run itself like PWS. I have made mistakes ordering things from legitimate business and when I was not happy with the products or services, the company would bend over backwards to make me happy. Return the products all your have to pay for is the shipping. That is how a legitimate business is run. Nick, if that is your real name, go answer the tough questions on my report. Also where are you??? In Las Vegas or Aliso Veijo or hiding somewhere else. You do not have a business license in Las Vegas so why or you using that address- HUMMM sounds like a legitimate business.

Play To Win Sports is the only one making promises and breaking them, another lie filled rebuttal..

#5UPDATE EX-employee responds

I read Mr. Anthony's so called response to Chris from Iowas complaint. Just another rebuttal filled with lies. Play to Win Sports does not charge people to go to work for them??? Yeah, then the charge for 1920.00 on my credit card just came out of nowhere when I made the dumb mistake of working for this Company. And where did all the other peoples charges come from, these people did get charged just for the heck of it, they did it because you deceived them into working for you. Also, the response about "you must promise to work hard for at least six months part/full time or we will not hire you." Another lie, I never promised anything about working hard for six months and I am sure they would have hired me and stole my money anyway. I did work hard for seven months, got paid for only six, and how was my hard work rewarded?? I was told I misunderstood the contract and was not getting refunded. Some way to reward hard work. They will probably say I did not work hard, but I have paychecks and I was even promoted, even though the promotion that came with a salary never materialized, another LIE. Play To Win Sports, you respond by saying the same thing everytime: These complaints are from desperate individuals that are attempting to extort/blackmail us and damage our reputation blah blah blah. The only one doing any extorting and blackmailing is you. And in your own words Nick, "If you make us a promise and break it, then please be professional enough to live with the consequences" and refund people what they deserve. But maybe you don't care about being professional, and you would just rather rip-off people....

#6REBUTTAL Individual responds

Sat, April 10, 2004

Chris obviously did not read the letter we sent him. The letter says the optional flyers are 24-39 cents each. People do not pay to go to work for us; some chose to purchase optional promotional flyers. We have never charged anyone to work for our company. If someone wants to make their own promotional materials or promote without any flyers they have that option. We make it clear in our letter that the flyers are optional. Let's clear the smoke of all these false allegations and emotional finger pointing. These complaints are from desperate individuals that are attempting to extort/blackmail us and damage our reputation. This is the bottom line. If you are someone that is interested in promoting for Play to Win Sports please do not apply unless you understand the following. Please read all of the information we mail to you before you contact us. If you are still interested, then please listen carefully to the person that interviews you and ask as many questions as you would like before you make a decision. I know this may sound trivial to request that you do this, but we have learned that some people do not read or listen to a company that provides full disclosure. This is the main reason some people may file a complaint. One area we would like to emphasize is that you must promise to work hard for at least six months part/full time or we will not hire you. If you make us that promise and break it, then please be professional enough to live with the consequences. We would not have any complaints if each person would have read and listened to the terms disclosed. Thank you for your interest in Play to Win Sports.
