I purchased a Pioneer Elite SC 67 home theater receiver in December of 2012. At the end of September 2014 this unit displayed th UE22 error code and went dead. If you Google UE 22 Pioneer you will see many posts regarding this. It requires the replacement of the main board....apparently many of the processors Pioneer purchased are turning out defective. The issue here is I am told a minimum of 60 days for the part and likely longer. Longer if those parts received only are enough to cover all the other people waiting for repair. So PIoneer has a known problem and the people in the US are not keeping sufficient inventory to repair their own in warranty units. If you have one of these units be aware the out of warranty price just for the board is 409 bucks..........plus of course the techs charge. So if out of warranty you could easily be looking at 600.
I just dont understand how it is reasonable for an in warranty very expensive unit to be waiting two to four months for parts. This is a warranty? If it was a car the lemon law would apply but apparently Pioneer feels once the unit is sold "Oh well!" Somehow I suspect the parts are either over in Japan and they wont ship them over by air or they are using the same boards to build other models. Of course if I was a Pioneer big wig I suspect I would have alrady had it back
Besides my issue I have read and heard Pioneer sold their consumer audio products and changeover is always rough

As I posted in my report the board for my SC 67 was 409 bucks if out of warranty plus tax and 185 bucks labor. Might check on your price but it might be around 600 so you need to consider that.

Pioneer does apparently read boards. Between this one and audiogon and a few emails Pioneer called me 5 ays after dropping off the unit and said "they had found the part and shipped it to the repair center. They also informed me theya sked the center to rush the unit. Anyway I picked the unit up 10 days after dropping it off and it is repaired. So much for the greater than 60 days. Seems like the squeeky wheel definitely gets the attention
