Pinellas Auto Brokers Inc. Refused To Refund Down Payment St. Petersburg Florida
On April 18, 2009, my wife and I went to Pinellas Auto Brokers and after looking at the used cars on their lot decided on a 2002 Daewoo Lanos. I was told I needed to make a $700.00 deposit to hold the vehicle, and they would prepare the car for me as well as the paperwork, and I would be able to pick up the car on Monday, April 20 after 2PM. This was perfect for me since I work until 3:30 PM, and decided to pick up the car after work.
When my wife and I got to their car lot at 5 PM on Monday, we were immediately informed that while working on the Daewoo Lanos they observed major mechanical problems with the car and did not feel comfortable selling us that car. They said we could pick another car from their inventory, but there was nothing else that came close to comparing to the car we originally decided on. At that time I requested my deposit back since they were not selling me the car I placed the deposit for, but they refused to refund me my money.
Even though they did not sell me the car that the deposit was going towards, and even though they cancelled the deal, they have repeatedly refused me a refund. This business's practices are unethical and borderline thievery!

Small claims court... you can get your court costs back too..
