Phoenix Car Rental Rented us a junk car...advertise new cars. No refund when returned 5 days early due to death in family. Phoenix Arizona
We booked a mid-sized car rental to vacation in Arizona two weeks. The company promised a Malibu or Corolla; they advertised new and used car rentals. We understood that we would be getting a new car or a used car in very good condition. Upon arrival, we were given a full-sized car. The car had non-working power door locks, non-functioning remote control mirrors, a broken center console, missing pieces under the dash, a broken odometer, and a very beat up exterior.
When Phoenix Car Rental was questioned about the car, they offered no solution and really didn't care. Since we had already been transported from the airport and they already had charge card information, we were pretty much stuck with this piece of junk. Their statement was..."What do you expect, it's a used car?" Since there was a diabled individual with us, this car proved to be a major challenge.
To make matters worse, our vacation was cut short due to a death in the family. We had to return home five days early. To add to this trauma, Phoenix Car Rental did not discount the cost of the car rental one dime. Guess they rented the same damaged vehicle to some poor soul the next day and made double the money for those five days. They even charged us $15.00 to wash the car, which was not freshly washed and vacuumed when we got it.
