I purchased a PDP memory module from TigerDirect.com and then mailed the original packing slip and upc with the rebate form. The purchase was on 27 August 2003. I received a postcard in the mail stating that the rebate would not be honored because the request was postmarked beyond the eligibility period for the promotion.

The rebate form indicated: "Offer good on purchase of listed PDP Systems memory product at Tiger Direct or TigerDirect.com from 08/12/03 & 08/31/03. Rebates must be postmarked by 14 days of purchase date (not delivery date)."

I mailed the rebate forms on 05 September 2003 and have credit card statements to verify it. 27 August 2003 plus 14 days is 10 September 2003. So what is the deal? I mailed three other rebates at the same. Two had the same 14-day requirement and have been honored already.

Tiger Compensates for PDP, It all felt very shady

I contacted TigerDirect while trying to contact PDP Systems. Tiger offered me $25 for the inconvienece PDP caused. Once I got ahold of a person at the PDP rebate center, all they asked for was the problem and then the date of purchase. They did not even ask for verification of my purchase date. It all felt very shady on their end. The rebate check did arrive all the same. I was very pleased with TigerDirect's willingness to shoulder the responsibility and make up for PDP's poor performance.
