The way you titled your report it looks like you're complaining about Paul Irvin, as though he were the seller of, or the backer of your Mac and Snap-On tools.
But I'm guessing that you are Paul Irvin, and that you posted your own name and address as though you were the ripoff artist.
I don't know what the warranties state now, let alone what their respective terms and conditions might have been over the last 20 years, but I would think most businesses WOULD retain proofs of purchase of trade tools for the length of their warranty lifetime.
Regardless, given you have no such proof, how much in dollar value of your tool stock needs replacement? How far up the food chain did you go with both companies in attempting to get redress?
Look up their online warranty terms. Do they specify needing such proof, or limit the warranty to original purchasers, which would imply they would need that proof?
