Complaint Review: Patrick Denson and Glenn Denson - Dallas Texas

So, I reached out to Homeadvisor.com for assistance to find a good backsplash installer. A guy by the name of Glen Denson contacted me from 469-781-0009 and 903-464-3096 who suggested that I go with him installing my kitchen backsplash. About three weeks went by and  so, I decided to go with Glen Denson of J&R Remodeling Repair because he had the best bid estimate from all other contractors that reached out to me.

5/7/2017: I sent photos of my kitchen and the backsplash tile that me and my wife purchased from Floor and Decor to Glen Denson Cell Phone. Glen stated that it was an easy job to do, so he stated he can do the job for a low cost of $350.00, which we was extremly happy about.

5/8/2017: Glen Denson showed up to our home alone. He asked questions of how we would like our tile and all. Once he noticed the tile that it was glass mixed with stainless steel, he said he need to run to Home Depot to get a blade to cut the tile. Mind you he told me over the phone that he's been doing tile for over 20+ years. Every expert tile person will have all proper tools and machines to cut tile. So he called me up over the phone stating I will have to reimburse him money for the blade and some quickset paste for the back of the tile that we didn't have. So I told him that's fine. He gets back to the house and starts cutting and installing the tile right away. He let me know that it will be hard for him to cut the tile because the tile that we picked was not good tile to cut. After cutting pieces of the tile to install he didn't do a good job on the edges. Also he never thought of a plan to work with the electrical outlets over the counters. He didn't cut around the tile before placing the tile over the outlets. Later his son and another guy came over to the house to help. The three were so much in a rush that they left the kitchen dirty and never cleaned up. Glenn told me to return some Grout to floor and decor and get sanded grout from Home Depot. Everything Glenn said was about Home Depot. So me and my wife went to purchase more grout at Home Deport that night and more tile becaues he used up all the tile we purchased.

5/9/2017: 9:45am CST Glen Denson, Patrick Denson and a coworker (Tall guy with hat) shows up to the house. They help with mixing and grouting the tile on the backsplash. Told us it would take some time to dry. Older guy Glen told us some stories about him having a Anniversary on 5/8/2017 which he made us believe and a few other stories (LIES) to make us laugh and smile. We let him know that we are looking for someone to install Stone over our fireplace. Glen suggested that he can do it with his crew for $750 the next day. He stated that would be lower than any other contractor that will come to our house to give an estimate. So me and my wife told him that was good and we may go with him. Later on while him and his coworker were fixing on the tile. We mentioned to him that the cut edges does look right. Pieces of tile were broken off. We asked him what can we get to fix that. He said we need a decorative Bone for the boarders. He said he will be back the next day to fix it once we get it. So we told him yes. Later on while talking to him about the fireplace he asked if we have the money for him and he promise he will be back the next day to finish the backsplash since he installed everything except for the Board Bone and the Electrical Outlet Plates. We decided to give him $400 to reimburse purchasing the Blade. He wrote us a reciept but the receipt didn't look Legit. I asked him is this the only receipt he has? He stated yes. So I asked what about the 2 year warranty contract? He stated he will give that to us the next day when he return. We accepting. Him and his so called son and coworker left for the day. Me and my wife went back out to Floor and Decor to purchase more items for the backsplash that they suggested. Bone and Sealer for grout.

5/10/2017: 9:35am CST Glen Denson and crew come back over to house. First thing they look at was our Fireplace thinking they were going to start the Stone project. I told them that we need some time on that and not to start project on fireplace yet. They seemed ok with it, but from the facial expression they didn't like that answer. They assumed that would be more money in their pocket. So after talking to them about the fireplace they went over to take a look at the items we purchased from Floor and Decor. First thing they said negative was the sealer we bought. They stated we should get a spray bottle sealer not the sealer with the brush. Mind you they never mentioned which type of sealer to get in the first place. As they were looking at the backsplash. I got a phone call dealing with work, so I had to answer it and go up stairs to talk in private. While on the phone for a little over 40 minutes I heard them going in and out the door for the first 10 minutes while on the phone. After I didn't hear them any more walking around. I assumed they were outside cutting the Board Bone that they were suppose to install that day. After I got off the call, the front door was unlocked and the truck they were in was GONE. I tried calling Glen back on the number he provided me (469-781-0009). He never picked up after multiple attempts. So, I decided to contact him from my house phone number so he wouldn't recognize. He picked up the call and acted like he couldn't hear me when I asked for him when he answered. He hung up the phone on me. So, I contacted him back again over and over. Left text messages and voicemails. I never received an answer back. I contacted Home Advisor about the situation that day and they found information on the so called company they have. The company (J and R Remodeling Repair) was terminated from Home Advisor because of a similar situation someone reported about them also.

Please do not do business with a company called J&R Remodeling Repair based around the North Dallas, Tx area. People names to look out for is Glen Denson or Patrick Denson. Contact numbers are (469) 781-0009 and (903) 464-3096. 

SCAM BUSINESS! They will start the work, but not complete the work once they get money from you.
