PAR NORTH AMERICA united auto credit did property damage when they illegaly repo'd my mother in laws car carmel indiana
they came onto my property,opening my gates(which is illegal in this county/state)doing significant damage to the fence and gates,I have 4 dogs that could have gotten out or hurt,when i called the sherriffs office they had not reported it before they came into my yard,which they are not aloud to do if the gates are closed or locked.i have signs posted that say no truspassing and beware of dogs also.so they illegaly entered my property and commited theft on top if it all over 1 missed payment from united auto credits screwing up of posting payments to late,which they admitted to her.

The reposessor may not do so if doing so will cause or involves a breach of the peace.
Releasing dogs is a breach.
Damaging property is a breach.
The repo guy can enter the property, with out notice.
BUT THE REST TYG IS BAD BAD WRONG, and a Troll, but that goes without saying....

In EVERY state in the US a repo company IS allowed to enter ANY property in the recovery of THIER property. ANY damages done are the responsibility of the person who DID NOT pay thier bill. because at the end of the day by NOT paying thier bill THEY caused the repo people to be called and needed. While it is unfortunate it is NOT a ripoff. It IS the cost of NOT PAYING YOUR BILL!!!!If they missed ONE payment and the vehicle was repoed then that person has no one to blame but themselves. Yes money is tight and we are in a tough economy and we ALL have to make the tough choices on WHAT bill to pay when. In THIS instance they made the wrong choice on which bill to pay BEFORE they paid the vehicle bill.
