Overstock.com Overstock ripoff mislead me with description of PC game,trys to cover it up and want me to take loss Salt Lake City Utah
I ordered Lord of The Rings :Return of the King PC CD with the impression it was the pc game,which was how it was advertised on Overstock.com's site.
Unfortunately this is NOT what I received,and re-ordered it twice, all 3 times was shipped Lord Of The Rings: Return of the King Activity Studio. I called and explained this wasn't what was advertised,nor what I ordered,customer service was very helpful,crediting my account with refund automatically.
I was asked if I wanted to reorder,I reordered the first time,and customer service personally did the reorder the second time not understanding why they kept shipping wrong item!
Upon receiving The Activity Studio again on 05/22/04 I called,and was now told this is what I ordered,NOT the pc game,if I wanted the game it was 38.95!
Note: The 38.95 game is not listed in PC games,it can only be found doing search for LOTR with notation Limited Inventory!
Sell out Risk: VERY HIGH
I tryed explaining it was the game,it said MultiStudio on pic of box,NOT Activity Studio which is whats on all three shipped to me.The Customer Service Rep said no that was it,if I didn't want it,I could return it,and they would give me an instore credit! The reps I spoke with prior to that both told me there was no return on games,since it was wrong just keep it! I then asked to speak to a manger.
When speaking with the manager he was very rude as I tried to explain this was third time,saying No I was wrong, this WAS what I ordered.I could return, it when they received it I would get an instore credit,minus return shipping fee!
Frustrated and extremely upset now,I told him this was ridiclous,I wanted the money returned to my Pal Pal account,and to removed from their mailing list.He replied this was store policy,and was only way matter would be handled!!!
I want everyone to see the wrong here,The ad I saw was misleading. I do believe it wasn't intentional,still since the last reorder, the ad has been partially changed,now describing CD as an Activity Studio.
I would like to draw attention to the fact the new description of content on this cd is just as inaccurate as what was previously there. This is an activity studio cd for The Return of the King,with scenes,and content from this movie,NOT "The Two Towers" which is now on page as description !!!
Also the system requirements for this cd are NOT what is still on page.BTW ,what is listed on page is requirements for The Return Of The King PC Game. Everything listed about this cd is inaccurate,incorrect,and NOT what they are
shipping!!!!!!!!!!!!!
