I purchased a 2006 Ford truck on 01 Feb. 2010. The owner Tom Otis fraudulently stated it was still under warranty. His salesman John Whalen told me it was equipped with a Truetrac rear differential. They promised to fix 7 items. Despite promises the warranty ends 2 years earlier than I was told, and it does not have Truetrac. And despite assurances to the contrary (lies) only 2 of the 7 items were repaired when I picked up the truck. On 06 Feb. I initiated a dispute with Discover Card and their response was to hire US Transnet in FL. to repossess the truck. They could not legally do this due to there being no loan or security agreement so they made false statements to facilitate the repossession. I had to navigate four police agencies in two states and deal with US Transnet and Ocean State Recovery to retrieve my truck. If it had not been for the diligence of myself and Discover Card Services I would not have gotten the truck back. When a vendor enters into an agreement with a credit card company they must agree to several things. One is to participate in a dispute resolution and mediation process. Otis Ford ignored the required process and chose to illegally repossess our truck in an attempt to circumvent that process. This company is without conscience and apparently believes this is an acceptable way to conduct business. They even put a NY inspection sticker on a truck with a busted windshield and an inoperative backup alarm. The truck would not pass inspection in MA. Beware of Otis Ford!!!
