Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I went to Orlando dodge to buy a used car. We found a Jeep Cherokee the sticker had it listed a little over 15k. We decided we would buy it and trade our old car for a down payment. My credit at the time was not very good so I went there with the intention of taking whatever rate I was given, make some payments, and then refinance the car.

When we got into the finance department I made the mistake of beliveing these people were trustworthy enough, were I was not going to have to read every thing line for line, and I would be able to take them at their word. The total amount came out to just 22k they had given me an exstended warrenty and some service bonuses so it seemed high but right.

They gave us 2k for the car and the extras came out to 22k. So the car that was listed at 15 minus 2k for a trade in 13 + tax extras came out to 22k. I immediatly assumed 9k is a big difference so since im talking about refinnacing he is showing me the total with the fiance charges included. So I SPECIFICALLY asked that is the total with the finance charges included in it as well then? YES I was told. The pament is 437 so I said ok 22k divided by the 437 then. Thats just over 50 payments too then? YES just over 50 payments! So I took him at his word and signed the papers.

For the last year and a half I was a very busy person. I travel around the country to work and me and my wife had a baby. I finally got some free time after the baby was born and started looking at our finances. I decided this is the right time to refinance my credit score is over 100 points better than it was now. I took the paperwork out and went to the refinace company. After all this time I unsealed the envelope and gave tthey he paperwork to the finance person. Thats when I learned how bad they had taken me. The total amount was not including the financing like I was told. The total amount of this vehicle was not based over just over 50 payments either.

The total amount of a 2015 Jeep Cherokee base model with financing is going to now cost me over 31 thousand dollars.

On a great note though they have called me to remind me that I signed all the paperwork. So very kind on thier end. Also amazing customer service to call your old customers up and remind them of how bad you screwed them over. So in short car listed at 15k - 2k for trade in roughly 13k Is now going to Cost me 31 THOUSAND DOLLARS.

You got it. That is exactly why I'm mad. It's not just deceptive its lying. I browsed the paperwork the number I was SHOWN. Just like I said in the first post was 22. I specifically asked that's it then? That includes financing charges?

That's all I pay? The answer was yes. So yes I didn't read line for line. Again read the first post. He said yes to specific questions I asked about it. So I took his word I though I don't need to read every God d**n line when someone says yes to a specific question like that. So I signed.

If you want to argue with someone about something at least read their post correctly before you make an a*s out of yourself.

It isn't about reading every single line in the agreement. You specifically changed your story from relying on what they were "telling" you to saying you "obviously" went through the part with the price and financing.   That does not match up.

Your biggest complaint is that they didn't make it clear the total amount you were financing and the number of payments. Again per the Federal Truth in Lending disclosure those are 2 of about 5 items specifically called out in the beginning. These are not burried in Page 8, Subsection 5, Paragraph 3. So if by some chance you did go through the financing you didn't understand it, and that again is no one's fault but your own.  This combined with you stating that you went in with the mindset of taking what ever they gave you, pretty much shows this is really nothing more than a case of Buyer's Remorse of an uneducated buyer.

Now, I doubt you will ever understand this. I also have serious doubts that you will do anything different in your next purchase.  But I hope people reading this will realize what NOT to do.  So I imagine in another few years we will see another report about how that dealer didn't explain something to you.  It may not be the total amount financed, it may be that you didn't know you bought an Extended Warranty or GAP insurance. It may be that they told you that 10 year old used car you bought As-Is was in "good" shape and you take it off the lot and have to replace the engine.  It may be that they told you your car had A/C and instead of verifying it during the test drive, you wait until the first hot day and then realize that the "A/C" is when you open up windows.

Good Luck

I'm curious anyway. What do you do that makes you feel like you needed to respond to this post? I put this up here to let people know this is not a trustworthy dealer. Like any other place that has hidden fees. My problem was we rushed the paperwork but even being rushed I did ask.

Ok so 22 was the final number that's with financing included right? I was told yes. Im not a finanace manager, I don't read contracts for a living, so I took him at his word. It would be like going to a farmers market and finding someone selling dip for crackers.

You look over the ingredients quickly and don't see peanuts on that part of the label. So you ask. That's everything? There are no peanuts right? Yes no peanuts. ( my question was very specific ). So you take it home, open it up a few months later, take a bite, and then keel over and die because your allergic to peanuts.

Turns out on another part of the label there was peanuts after all. The fact is. You already know what I did. You know what pretty much everyone does when we read terms and conditions or contracts. We recap them, or summarize them, and most of us just browse over it a little, just to make sure nothing giant pops out.

The number I saw was the final number I was shown. You should be able to take people at their word when your buying anything. So my question is why? Why do you really feel like you need to come on a site like this and try to defend something like this? It just doesn't make sense to me.

You can't backtrack now...

Your entire report started on the basis that you just relied on them "telling" you about the financing.

You can't now come back and say you read the contract because if you had you would have seen the line for the total cost WITH FINANCING. You also would have seen the line for the EXACT total number of payments. This is all part of the Truth in Lending statement which is required on all financing contracts.

So either you did actually see the terms, and as I stated earlier this is just a case of Buyer's Remorse.  Or you are now trying to change your story to make you sound like you didn't make a mistake and falsly claming you read the contract.

You have just blown what ever credibility you had(which was none) to begin with.  So which case is it really?

Says right in the first post. I didn't think I had to read everything line by line. Again moronic. I don't know why your such a bitter person that you really need to come on sites like these and troll people. It really pathetic and now I fell sorry for you.

So whatever the real issue is I how you can work your way through it. Did you vote for Hillary? That girl at work won't talk to you? Cant ask for that promotion. You can do it buddy. I believe I you.

When I post about people trolling. You just have to hit me with the most childish troll in the world. The grammar n**i. When I say I didn't read it that's not 100 percent accurate. Like anyone I went through it. I didn't read every single line.

Obviously I went through the part with the price and financing. Most people do the same exact thing. I can guarantee that you have too. I'm sure you read every single one of the terms and conditions just to use this site right? So basically I did the same thing 99% of people do while signing a contract.

I let him summarize the pages. When we got to the financing I looked at the numbers and I asked very specifically. That is the total of everything you are including the financing charges? The fact you would think anything else is moronic.

Taking a jab and someone child in a post also shows your garbage character as a person. My advice would be to finally leave your 30 cats at home, go outside, and go talk to a real person the learn some manners.

A Meeting of the Minds

#11Consumer Comment

A contract is a meeting of the minds that indicates there is a common understanding of the intentions of all involved parties. To avoid confusion or misconception you should always read a contract prior to signing it. That holds true regardless of the level of integrity of the involved parties.

You found time to travel and make a baby but no time to read the contract. Sure.

You may want to consider learning the difference between you’re and your. For example: You’re a victim of your own negligence. Another example: I hope you’re not considering homeschooling your child.

Man if you don't work there get a life. This is how you spend your time trolling people on ripoff report? I know I was stupid. Everyone that will post to this site knows in some way they were stupid. You can go on every single post and say something if you want.

Oo the plumber messed up. You should have watched him. Ooo the contractor didn't do what he said. You should have never paid him before! The lawyer the Baker the paver the banker. It's all the same complaint troll.

That complaint is someone somewhere trusted someone with something and they were lied too. I took him at his word when I specifically asked that also includes financing? This site is designed for people to show other people how that TRUST was broken.

So if you really don't work there. Get a life and a new hobby. Every complaint is the same.

First mistake ripoff report is not a website that people just go around and look up random reviews. It's a website designed for consumers to look up business.

- Actually it's both.  Just like you can post reports on companies, people can come and provide comments and those comments may not always agree with what you think.

So first off no one that posted works for the company. It is typical that when someone posts something that goes against what they think, they  default to the usual "Oh you must work for them". By the way if you look at the top of this site you will see a link that says "Latest Reports".  So we didn't have to go digging through 2.5 Million reports as you think...yours popped-up right on the top when we came to this site.

No one should shop there and I'm buying a Toyota.

- And who says that the Toyota Dealer wouldn't do the same thing if you went in willing to accept what ever they gave you? It seems as if you haven't learned a thing.

You are right about one thing when the consumers look up this report.   Anyone reading this will know what NOT to do. They will know NOT to go into a dealer with the mindset that they are just going to accept what ever is given. They will NOT just sign legally binding contracts with no clue what they are signing. They will NOT wait 18 months before they take 5 minutes and open up the envelope that the dealer gave them.

Ok so your making some serious mistakes here.

First mistake ripoff report is not a website that people just go around and look up random reviews. It's a website designed for consumers to look up business.

So we have 3 possibilties right now.

1. You ARE a completly random person that went through 2.5+ million reviews and decided to comment on this one in less than 24 hours of the post. Seems legit.

2. You are a Consumer that was looking to buy there and my post made you so angry that you decided to comment.

3. You are the Company that got the email that I filed a complaint and made a rebuttle right around the same time that company opens. Also in the rebuttle you even go as far as to write. "you'll probably say I work there".

So what is it.

1. Loser that sits all say and has read 2 million ripoff report posts?

2. Consumer looking to buy and gets mad when people say a bad experience that happend to them?

3. Or 3 Orlando dodge.

I don't know about everyone else that ever looks you up and reads this but im really going with 3 on this one.

Wow 2 responses right away in under 24 hours when ripoff report needs to verify the response too. I guess all you two do is sit on ripoff report all day to respond to random posts. So to the nice people at Orlando dodge I would like to say thank you for the repsonse.

You made it just a little to obvious. Your right though you got me. Lied to my face when I trusted you. Got me my fault. I just want everyone to know that your a stereotypical scum dealer. No one should shop there and I'm buying a Toyota.

Really

#16Author of original report

Wed, May 01, 2019

So let me get this straight I just filed a report less than a day ago. They say the report goes to the dealer. So then two responses I got were from random people that just happen to look at every report on ripoff report under 24 hours of making the report. Sounds a little fishy but ok I guess.

Also yes it was my fault for not reading the paperwork. The point is they are not trustworthy when someone tells you to your face that is the total cost with financing. Go ahead though and make some other posts on some other comments though obviously less than 24 hours that's all you people do all day.

YOU were presented with a contract which gave a complete breakdown of the charges. Yet, instead of READING it, you asked the salesman! When he said "sign", like a doormat, you signed. You didn't even have the slightest clue what you were agreeing to!

Of course, it's ALL their fault! Another typical example of the dumbing down of America. Go ahead and get mad and why not write back something stupid like "you must work for them"!

Buyer's Remorse

You know you blamed just about everyone you could except yourself.

When you started off with a phrase like..."so I went there with the intention of taking whatever rate I was given, make some payments, and then refinance the car.".  This translate to "Thank you sir...may I have another".

Seriously, you go into the finance department and along with your poor credit score you also have poor reading skills because you FAILED to even look at the contract you were signing. I would bet that ALL of the details were listed right on the page with your signature that all you had to do was open your eyes.  If you couldn't find it then the magic words of "Show me where it shows...." works wonders.

Then apparently the excuse train keeps going down the track where you are so busy for the next 18 months that you don't even have 5 minutes to open up the envelope to see what you signed. In fact you didn't even open it up until you met with the person at the finance company.  I bet in their mind the new finance company was thinking..Really this guy can't be serious?

for trade in roughly 13k Is now going to Cost me 31 THOUSAND DOLLARS.

- Yes and the reason it is costing you that much is because of the following reasons.

1) Your history of poor credit decisions caused you to be stuck with a higher interest rate.  I doubt this was the first time you signed something without reading it.

2) You went into the finance department with a blindfold on

3) You signed the paperwork without even reading it

4) You went into the finance department admitting you were going to take what ever you were given...which is what happend.

Based on your initial statement, regardless of what they did or did not tell you..you still would have signed on the dotted line. So this is nothing more than a case of buyer's remorse by a person who has no idea how financing or credit works.

Good Luck and if you learned anything from this it is to READ and UNDERSTAND what you are signing.
