Orkin was an absolute disaster. We called them out to our home to treat a carpenter ant problem. They drilled holes all over the inside of our freshly painted house, in every room, and sprayed chemicals into the walls. This did nothing to stop the carpenter ants. I then researched online, and found that what they did was completely wrong; unless they actually found a nest inside of the wall, there was no point to drilling inside the house. They never even bothered to check the exterior of our house. We also found out that they had been "servicing" the previous owner of the house for FIVE YEARS and were unable to rid the home of carpenter ants. Needless to say, Orkin's treatment was useless.




We called another company who came out (and charged us over a hundred dollars LESS than Orkin) and found the primary ant nest in a tree outside of our home as well as a couple of satellite nests. The mosquito treatment that they applied did absolutely nothing either. And, to add insult to injury, they came out to our house and performed service again after we canceled.
They offered a tiny refund of one monthly service visit, but they never gave us the refund (and came back and billed us again after we asked them to never come back). Completely worthless service; the other pest control company even said that the chemicals they used to treat the carpenter ants inside of our house have been largely out of use in the pest control industry for 20 years!

Just to update the original report: Orkin did do the right thing and offer me a refund.  I would consider this matter closed.  While I was not happy with the service at all, it could have just been my local office, so I will give the company as a whole the benefit of the doubt, and thank them for refunding my money.
