I really wish I had known about this site when I signed up with Orchard. It amazes me how many people are getting.. pardon my french... screwed over with disgustingly high APR who don't deserve it. I pulled my credit report, and noticed wow I've been current with HSBC for over 3 years!, so why the heck am I paying 29% APR?! They have no answer..wait that is IF you actually get someone on the line, not hung up on, and they speak just enough english you understand the jist that they are saying HAHAHAHAHA.

I emailed them today that I have been with you for four years, never been late, please review my account and reduce APR this was the response:

Dear .........

We are writing to you in response to your inquiry regarding your Account ending in XXXX issued by HSBC Bank Nevada N.A. We understand your concern regarding the interest rate. We received your request for a reduced Annual Percentage Rate; however, a lower rate is currently not available. We understand that ensuring that your payments are received on time is important to you. As a friendly reminder, your payment is due on 03/30/2008. If you have already made a payment for at least the Current Payment Due, please disregard this message. For your convenience and to help you manage your Account, you can monitor yourAccount balance by logging on to your Account online and viewing the Current Status box under Account Overview. You are important to us and we appreciate your business.

Maybe if they took the time to ACTUALLY look at an account they would have known all my payments come automatically EARLY. I hate them. I only owe $241.00 and will pay that in full and close. yea i know my credit will be affected but the way i see it, the next company who gives me a higher APR will be someone who deserves it and it will still probably be cheaper in the long run.

DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY I BEG YOU!!! I am 25 y/o, wanting to get my stuff straight to buy my 1st home and JERKS like these don't care. NO excuse just JERKS

cardmember agreement?

Did you read the cardmember agreement that comes with any credit card? Every credit card says they can raise your APR or cancel your card at anytime for any or no reason. Unfortunately HSBC is a very greedy bank and they are raising interest rates for good and bad accounts it's all about the profit, that is why I don't work there anymore, but while I did work there I found that probably only 1 out of 10 people read there cardmember agreement so they don't know the rules of the game, and get upset when something that is legal for the company to do happens. When you accept a credit card from any bank it is a legal contract read their disclosure and then accept or cancel the card.
