on feb 8, 2013 I tried to book a trip through orbitz.com.  I got the message "transaction could not be processed please try again or use another card.  we then entered the details 3 more times.  The very last time the card was declined.  we called the bank thinking the limit for the debit card was too low.  They informed me that orbitz had pre-authorized 3 payment of $938.48. which lead to the forth try to be declined.  That was just for the flight no hotel reservation were confirmed.  I called orbitz and they said because the price has changed on the trip the transaction was denied.  When i asked how much the trip to mexico was now, They had no way of knowing???  That is what they do right?? 

anyway, I waited a few days and low and behold the 3 transactions of $938.48 had went through.  I called them again, the tranferred me to airtran air whom then switch me back.  everyone had promised me the refund to my account but as of today, nothing has been done to refund my money.  2-13-2013.  we had to plan quite a lot to get off work for 10 days and run to mexico, would have been great right?  Thanks to orbitz and their screw ups, we have no money in the account to book a trip nor do we have a trip and most important, No one really knows where my $2815.44 is, or who is responsible for my refund.  The bank says it can take up to 90 after filing a dispute.  Airtran says i's****.>
I'll have to try again next year, but i will never use orbitz again.  heed the warning, there are many stories just like this one.  I talked to a supervisor "marcello" from some third world country.  He couldn't speak english well.  he offered me $100.00 coupon off my next trip but I have not seem it yet to read the catch attached.  even so; I wouldn't book anything with them even if they decided to pay for the entire trip.  No telling if the hotel would even know who you were if you got there.
