OCWEN has outsourced all its 'customer support' lines to India. Communication is difficult or impossible, and if you ask to speak with the first caller's supervisor, you WILL be placed in eternal hold - eventually you will be disconnected.

OCWEN holds payments for weeks, sometimes as much as 5 weeks. Which means your payment, since it hasn't been cashed, will be considered late until you call and deal with the hassle of pointing out that you watched the letter get postmarked, so they pretty much have to admit they do indeed have it.

Several times they have held one or more payments until the morning before one of our checks gets deposited. If you've made the mistake of assuming the payment was already charged and utilize that money for something else, well, they'll collect their bonus check too.

No real service and extremely shady financial dealings. Add to that the obvious love of outsourcing - they now advertise themselves as outsourcing consultants - and what you have is an unethical, corrupt, and unAmerican company.

Ocwen Loan Servicing...

#2General Comment

My mortgage company sold out to Ocwen in the middle of March of this year.  It is now April 13, 2013 and I am still experiencing problems trying to talk to anyone at that company about my account.  It is a nightmare!  I call the customer service center (and have asked numerous times to be given a direct line to someone here in the U.S. instead of India, Pakistan or Timbuktu, but consistently get told this is the only number they have and they refuse to give me a direct line to the U.S. offices) and I have to listen to their "script" and can't understand a word they are saying.  They all sound like they have marbles in their mouths when they talk.  I cannot understand much if anything they say and I'm sick to death of dealing with a foreign country about my personal business.  During the last month I have had to call Ocwen over 15 times to try and get things straightened out - to no avail.  Everytime I call I have had to listen to someone I cannot understand and do not feel comfortable with talking to about my account.  I continually ask to talk to someone in the U.S. and am put on hold for a ridiculously long amount of time.  But before I am transferred I have to listen to a bunch of mumbo jumbo that usually the only words I can understand are "we are a global company".  Well good for you.  I don't do business with foreigners and I refuse to help support a foreign country by doing so.  It is a nightmare!

Why in the world, especially since there is so much being written about how Ocwen does business would I ever let that company have access to my bank account?!  There is no way I would authorize any business that outsources their customer service to another country to have access to my bank account!  I would be insane to let them have access, especially since they seem to screw up everything they touch.  No thank you!  I believe in supporting my own country and doing business here - not India, Pakistan, Iran, Irag, Afghanistan or anywhere else other than the U.S.  I've had to call them 9 times in the last week to even get information about why I was receiving letters about foreclosure and a "personal assistant" that I am supposed to contact.  I am not in foreclosure, have never been late on a payment but the "customer service" department could not explain to me why I received this letter.  Oh, and the person's name I am supposed to talk with about it?  Of course, it is Indian, and not American Indian.  Why should I trust these people to handle my account correctly when I cannot understand a word they say and they don't even live in the same continent???  Yes, I am looking for another mortgage company and hopefully I will find one soon before Ocwen further screws up my account!

HELP WITH ON TIME PAYMENTS

#3Consumer Suggestion

Thu, October 28, 2004

I am a mortgage lender for one of the larger and more respected frims in the country. Most lenders will accept payment via visa/ mastercard/ debit/ amex etc. You should elect this payment option and set it to be charged on the 1st of the month. They hold your check as long as possible because in the "meter" is running everyday they do not cash it. You can stop this by setting up an automatic payment. If you do not want to use plastic you should be able to sent up an automatic wire with your bank on a regaualr basis. This may cost upwards of $10-15 , but you wont have the headache of a late or "missing" payment. hope you find this info useful.
