Ocwen Federal Bank has won the bid to take over the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Property Management nationwide following a one-year A-76 Study (completed in three-and-one-half years) by VA Central Office in an effort to privatize another government function.

A-76 Studies were designed by Congress to compare costs and efficiencies between the government and private companies. Ocwen promises to provide more efficient property management at lower cost.

The American taxpayer and Ocwen customers will feel the effects of Ocwen promises. There are no penalties for non-performance.

Your Congressmen designed the A-76 Format to "legitimize" the privatization of government functions that are not "inherently governmental". It's your guess how the determination of what is "inherently governmental" is made. The term "inherently governmental" is inherently subjective.

Virtually all wars, for example, have included mercenary soldiers. During the Vietnam War, the American taxpayer sustained 50,000 North Korean troops in Vietnam. At the same time, the American taxpayer sustained another 50,000 American troops along the DMZ in North Korea. All was bought and paid for by the American taxpayer.

In truth, nothing is inherently governmental! Your government is being wholesaled to the most corrupt bidder! The Executive Branch, the Legislative Branch and the Judicial Branch no longer provide any checks and balances. They are all a part of the problem.

I am more fearful of Corporate Terrorism than I am of Terrorism from the false prophets from the Middle East. Why do they hate us so much, anyway?

Ocwen will join the ranks of the Enrons, et al.

If you believe all the Presidential blustering about corrupt corporations and their executives being taken to task, you will be quite wrong. Virtually nothing will happen. I recommend the most severe punishment; Two weeks in jail, a $250 fine, and the criminal executives get to keep their billions in offshore accounts.

All Ocwen lobbyists have to do is grease a few palms in Washington!

Caveat Emptor!

We're rapidly heading downward! Expatriation may be your only choice! Hello, Australia?

Obviously, no one in the Government is taking this seriously and from what I am reading, soon VA home loans will be worthless. So much for service to one's country! I have been told by a self-styled expert on these matters in the past that this is not a "tea and sympathy" site. And I would love nothing more than to give all of you solid advice on this issue. However, where do you turn now? This country will soon turn into a vast wilderness of courtrooms and civil suits. I have a son in the Military right now and will advise him NOT to avail himself of this supposed benefit later on. It is impossible to win against terrorists sponsored by our own Government! My heart goes out to all of you that are ensnared in this web of corruption. We do indeed have the best democracy that money can buy!
