Like many others, my mortgage was sold to Ocwen by HUD. I went under assignment with HUD after I divorced and wanted to keep my home. HUD reduced my payments during the period of assignment (3 years)so I would be able to make payments and keep my home. When they sold it, Ocwen was then known as Berkley Federal. They later changed their name (wonder why).

I have read almost all the complaints on this site and the rebuttals and I don't care what "rebuttals" are posted to my complaint.......I did not ask to be put under Ocwen. They have done nothing but harrass, threaten, loose payments, lie, cheat, and express no concern for their actions.

I was a single mother at the time Ocwen purchased my loan from HUD and was working to try and make ends meet. All I got from trying to work with them was harrassment and threats.

When I married, we both had a divorce under our belt and alot of financial baggage. We decided to declare bankruptcy Chapter 13 and start fresh. I knew I could not claim my home mortgage, so I was going to claim the "arrearage" I had incurred so I could start paying on it through the Chapter 13 plan.

When I called Ocwen to get an arrearage amount, the amount they gave me was hellacious!! I told them there was no way I owed that. Upon further investigation, I found out that they had lost 12 of my payments. Now if I had not paid 12 payments, why did I still have my house. I had to collect all cancelled checks, money order stubs, etc. and send them a copy. My bankruptcy attorney could not believe the incompitence of this company.

After this, I had a rep, Katie Sovic,in their bankruptcy dept. contact me and question as to why I was claiming the arrearage in the Chapter 13. I told her I wanted to claim it to start paying on it under the plan so that it wouldn't incur any further interest and I didn't want the negative mark on my credit report. She explained to me that is wasn't incurring interest and wouldn't show up as "late" on my credit report.

So, I withdrew the arrearage from the Chapter 13. Funny though, the arrearage amount keeps increasing and when I tried to purchase a vehicle, I was denied due to they couldn't verify my payment history with Ocwen and was unable get anyone to talk to there to verify it. Also, the arrearage was showing up as a "late".

I tried to call the number that showed up on my caller ID when Katie Sovic contacted me and got someone at the West Palm Beach water dept. I tried it twice and got the same person. If they are doing things legit, why are they routing there calls through other lines?

I was furious at the way Ocwen has manipulated my life. I went online to find out the President's name and sent her a certified letter detailing all my trouble with this company. Upon receiving my notice that it had been signed for, it wasn't signed by her. All I received from them was a letter stating that were "investigating" my allegations. Nothing since. I have tried to refinance with another institution, however, Ocwen has my credit screwed and no one can call them and find out anything pertaining to my payment history. The attorney I used to work for even tried writing them and never got a response.

I sent my April, 2002 payment on March 28, it didn't get posted by Ocwen until April 9. And yes, I did receive their famous recorded call from Amy. I am beginning to hate that name. I would like to join in on a class action suit. I will be glad to converse with other Ocwen victims.
